Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Love it, it pretty much ruined one of my favourite bands for me :(

Ken Mode - Entrench

I really liked The Hunter. Wouldn't be surprised if the next album (assuming there will be one) is a little more proggy though. Lots of Brent Hinds solos, please.

I like all of Mastodon's albums. I feel like new directions are always good for bands and i do believe Brann said they're making a new album soon.

I get your point though, and I'm all for band evolution too.

My gripe with it isn't evolution (which I'm generally a big fan of), or quality (I still think its a really good album)... I just find a bunch of the melodies ridiculously annoying to the point where other mastodon albums started to make me think of them :( just trying to ween myself back onto them at the moment

How do you find this stuff? It's great.

This one was actually brought to my attention by a mate. Usually though it'll be a combination of Last.fm or bandcamp and far too much free time.

NewRetroWave has a lot of great songs. There's two compilations of that style of music on bandcamp that are pretty cool.

The ONLY enjoyable thing from ABCs of Death was this song:

Turisas - Turisas2013

Interesting, first you think that "wait, is this parody of Turisas...?" and then it kind of grows on you. Greek Fire is just nasty, this album rocks serious ass.

Everyone watch this regardless of what you think of Dream Theater.
Just getting the time signatures down is amazing. 108 changes
