Just managed to track down a copy of the limited/numbered/long-out-of-print Death - The Sound of Perseverance 3-disc reissue limited deluxe digipak edition extravagasm on Discogs. And for only $10 more than it originally cost! Now if I can only manage to nab the other two reissues before THOSE run out...
Only analog is real.
Bi-annual clothes shopping trip. A couple of jumpers, a top for a work thing on Wednesday, new Winter coat, an umbrella - and this cardigan, which makes me feel like waving my arms at people and yelling "ALAKHAZAM!"
A shit ton of Breaking Bad stickers, because I'm fucking weird? I dunno. Including such designs as:

And my personal favorite:

I have a problem. But after 5 they were half off and AH!

I would have done the same thing!

nope, they have not been altered. I think Steven Spielberg has learned his lesson. Jaws has not been altered for its Blu-ray release and looks amazing. And E.T. will be released in all its original theatrical glory on Blu-ray as well.

I had a discussion with Dev about Blu-ray when I saw him a few weeks back... glad to know we share the same opinion on it

and that would be?

Well we were talking about RC which will be filmed for blu-ray and about how everyone got their undies in a knot about the By a Thread shows not being blu-ray. I thought, and Dev agreed, that I don't "get" blu-ray. We may have both had more impassioned things to say about it but... I'll leave that out

Some people love it, and that's totally cool, but still... I don't get it

Only case where I really care is the extra storage on a single disk for raw audio. Either that or condensing a massive set.

to me it's quite easy. I want to see the film the way it was intended with the best quality possible and you just don't get that with DVD. Sure, picture quality does not make a good movie. But compression artifacts can certainly harm the experience...for me personally. Bad compression does not have the same charm as an old worn out VHS tape would, it just makes a movie look like an old Youtube video. DVDs worked OK on old tube TVs but if you want a movie to look the way it looked in theater and if you love film grain and a truely filmic look then I'm afraid there's no way around Blu-ray right now...untill 4K resolution arrives on home video.
And in regards to concerts on Blu-ray. I wouldn't say that picture quality is the main factor here. But sound quality is. Imagine you could watch one of Dev's concerts with DTS-HD Master audio sound quality with an insanely high bitrate at home over and over again. If that thought alone doesn't make you cream your pants you have to run to a doctor NOW and get your testicles checked!
I used to be a nay sayer too but I sure as hell don't ever want to watch movies like Alien, Aliens or Blade Runner on DVD ever again if I can avoid it

DVDs after like 2002 didn't suck though.
