-Then when the crew gets kidnapped there is no time to waste and you got to use the Omega 4 relay right away. If you wait too long then Kelly and others will die.
-As for the suicide mission itself. I picked Tali for the tech stuff, Garrus to be the team leader, I sent Mordin away to take the crew to the Normandy. I picked Jack to to the biotics stuff. Not sure what else you have to do but that's what I remember.
I have not lost a single squad mate or crew member in any of my playthroughs. Hope this helps

Thanks dude! I have all Normandy upgrades, and all upgrades that I had available, I have installed.
I forgot that when you get Reaper IFF (also I see what you did there), the part where the crew is taken will be triggered after a few missions. So this morning I got Samara's loyalty (after getting the IFF) and then the crew got taken. Tali and Legion weren't loyal, and I didn't get their upgrades, so that's why they must've died every try. I didn't know you needed special upgrades.
Anyway, I've reloaded my oldest save (pre-activating Legion) and instead of getting Samara loyal, I went and got Tali and Legion loyal. Paragon was high enough to keep them both happy. Nice. Also got both their upgrades.
Miranda still isn't loyal, though. Paragon is almost at the top, but I just can't get the option. Nothing more I can do to get my Paragon level up more, so I'll just have to hope Miranda doesn't die.
Next time I touch the galaxy map, the part where the crew is taken should be triggered, but I should be prepared well enough now. Going to try tomorrow
And then it's Overlord, Firewalker (bleh), and Arrival time
