Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

Ha yes, tried searching for a workaround to allow for a custom title (like the quote tags have), but it seems that's not really something we can fix without some back-end updates.

I could assume it was about Breaking Bad since that's all those 3 talk about in here, but those all-spoiler conversations are a little difficult to keep track of. :P

Spoiler: show
Wouldn't it be fun just to make everything here a spoiler?

Spoiler: show
On the other hand, I don't see this idea getting too much wind under it's wings.. :D

Nawh, I'm not complaining about the system, it works fine.
Just couldn't help myself and surrendered under the spoiler pressure!

Round-up of recent TV viewing.

The Newsroom was cheesy but awesome. Thoroughly looking forward to season 2 and I love Jeff Daniels. Delighted to have Hell on Wheels back but the cast are still propping up a slow-moving and often lacklustre plot. Charlie Brooker's A Touch of Cloth is genius and Breaking Bad is tearing the very fabric of my heart and soul apart every time I watch it. I often get The Wire-related abuse for saying this around my friends but it is, in my opinion, the greatest show ever. AND THERE'S STILL ONE LEFT. AND THEN 8 MORE.

The Wire and BB are completely different animals, imo.

However, I must say season 4 of The Wire is one of the greatest works of the 21st century.

I've always watched the majority of Louie on netflix and I really didn't know what to make of it. I went in thinking comedy, and it was funny, but there were scenes that were far more serious than most dramas. Really disconcerting.

It's a fascinating show, Louie. Never seen a show quite like it.

This isn't your typical "omg check it out" tv show, but I've been watching the doco series Meet The Amish. They took several young (late teens to early 20s) Amish folk and filmed them as they spent time with several different families in the UK during their rumspringa (running around) period. It doesn't set out to provide any great revelations, but it really focused on the personalities of the Amish kids and their thoughts on how modern life compared to their own lives. Particularly the two young women, who I have to admit I was completely captivated by (in the most innocent way possible for an old creep). They were sweet, kind, incredibly understanding and just all around beautiful people. I'm a grumpy non-believer, but the world could do with more people like those girls. It's well made, sensitive and (I thought) completely compelling.

Ahh yes, I remember seeing this a while ago. Really interesting to see them explore the world and the people around them.
This show was a follow-up to a series- 'Living With the Amish' (not sure if you knew) where the English kids (all horrifically dependant upon technology and modern commodities) travel to and stay with Amish families in different towns/belief doctrines. Maybe I'm just a total saddo, but I found these shows more interesting than they (probably) actually are when weighing up the potential change in opinion and self-discovery involved for both parties. :P

Hey!

Just reminded myself of Big Bang Theory!
It's good!

Watched a full episode of The Office, the one with the guy I know from Memebase!
It was good too!
He fooled this blonde woman to marry him, while she was getting married to someone else, but instead she found out she didn't want to marry I suppose neither.
And there was a thing with the printer. And some chairs.

Cool, I'll have to try and find that. Although I'm not sure I'd enjoy the reverse situation as much as I did seeing the Amish kids swimming in the ocean for the first time, or seeing an Amish boy drink cider!

Now watching Metal Evolution.

I only found out that was on last week. Kinda wish I'd seen the first few episodes. Still, the NWOBHM episode was cool. I liked the comparison of punk to metal like two snarling dogs sizing each other up.

Thrash next week! :guitar:

iView still has Episode 3: Early Metal UK

Sadly eps 1 and 2 have now dropped off. If you can hunt them down they're worth seeing - sets the scene through jazz, blues, rock n roll and 60s rock.

For sure, that would make a great little Christmas present. Would definitely get some repeated viewings.
