My discovery of the year is fresh mint and chilli. We grow a lot of mint, and a lot of varieties of mint, and throughout the summer months it is fantastic just to take a dozen or so fresh mint leaves, scrunch them up a bit and put them in a pot with boiled water. However, I have recently discovered adding a few slices of a not-too-hot chilli to the pot - a Scotch bonnet for example or a Habanero. It is a sublime flavour, hot or cold.

I got chocolate mint and pineapple mint growing in the greenhouse, you ever tried that?

Also, that chinese stuff is better than any Twinings or generic brand version of green/jasmine tea. (Chinese supermarkets also ftw)

EDIT: I did say in my old post my obsession wasn't on the scale of violets and I didn't have a cupboard dedicated simply for tea. Oops.

currently I love Earl Grey Excellent (with a strong bergamot taste) and Milky Oolong. Other favorites are Darjeeling Mount Everest (good to wake up) and Jasmine.

Tried Twining's Assam Bold because I liked the silver packaging (the extra strong label also intrigued me).
Pretty good, preferred it black.

Not a massive fan of blackcurrant, personally...But it sounds like an interesting combo. Give it a go and give us a verdict pls, so a provisional yes from me.

I like Blackcurrant on occassion, so I'd recommend it. Goes well with rum & raisin biscuits. Haven't tried Vanilla, though. Thoughts?
