Was meant to meet a mate for some mountain biking this morning, but when I arrived at our start destination he had decided to stay home. Damn and blast! So I voyaged solo and managed to complete all 20 miles of the black route at Glentress for the first time, despite flying solo and getting soaked.

So, a small achievement for me as it is something that I have aspired to do for ages.

That is all.

Oh, and to reward myself I am having coffee and listening to new Gojira.

(I guess that wasnt all)

Just got back from my brother-in-law's wedding in L.A. It was held at a mansion off of Mulholland that used to belong to Rick James. In fact, it was the mansion this happened in: http://articles.latimes.com/1991-08-03/ ... rick-james

Had some great food, great drinks, great cigars, and danced my ass off with family and friends. I don't do that kind of shit enough.

The mansion was being renovated, but it was still impressive as hell. The view of L.A. from the backyard was breathtaking. Fucking rich people. The house belongs to a friend of my brother-in-law, and the guy was extremely nice and accommodating. Good times.

Yesterday I realised that even though I've only been there a year, I am ten times better at cast-work than the guy who trained me who has been there eight years.

That and I am the only one in our department for two weeks (normally three) and I am holding the fort pretty darned well and doing some really complex jobs for the orthotists without having to ask them for any explanations.

Just plain awesome = me this week. :D

Mickey's version of Super Freak is pretty dynamite, too.

Ah, the Daily Heil. A bit of light relief from the articles about illegal immigrant single mothers ruining the housing market and everything on Earth causing cancer apart from the stuff they are promoting as curing cancer this week.
