Yeah, shame. There wasn't much they could do I guess. Download "won" and must've gotten in their first with most cases, plus getting Metallica/Biffy knowing that Soni wouldn't get away with putting them on 2 years in a row. After that, they're only left with bands who are actually touring and not already at DL... which by the looks of it, didn't leave them with much.

Then they had the whole admin problems making them unable to announce until this late on, creating all this anticipation and 'hype' (if you can call it that)... for THIS line up. All in all, a pretty big fail.

I'd happily say last years Sonisphere was my best festival, and one of the most fun weekends I've ever had. Shame this year had to go so wrong.

I just hope Gojira are at Bloodstock too. Maybe Mastodon as well? But I find that harder to imagine. There's also Meshuggah and Aborted (among others) that have had (or will have) new albums out this year that haven't been announced at any of them (yet, I hope).

Adam Lambert?... *palm to the face*

People who drink and drive. I will never fucking understand it. If you want to be drunk and go get yourself killed that's your prerogative. But when you get on the road and put some innocent person/people's lives in danger because you're too stupid to not drive, that's fucked.

This guy at my university who I didn't know well but had still seen a lot due to the fact that he was pre-med (I have a lot of pre-med friends) got hit by a drunk driver a couple weeks ago on his scooter. In the middle of the afternoon. Seriously, what the hell? He's been in a coma for the past few weeks and just passed away yesterday. It's so sad seeing all the people affected by it, posting memorials on his Facebook and such. And it's all because some stuid asshole decided he could drive. It's a huge problem in New Mexico, and it just confuses/sickens me.

The light fixture in my toilet broke, falling from the ceiling to the floor. The last time I even touched the thing was back in winter to change a light bulb, and I made sure it was securely fastened. Have had no problems until today, so I blame the heat. 36 fucking degrees, and I can still feel it even with the windows open. The screwed up part is that even 36 isn't so bad. This place was built a few decades ago and hasn't had much in the way of internal maintenance since, so maybe the base holding the fixture was just slowly eroding as well.
To add insult to injury, as I was starting to clean up the glass, I suddenly had to shit, and it wasn't one I could hold. Fucking wonderful - I'm just glad there were no shards that bounced onto the toilet seat.

Fuck you, summer. Fuck you.

I lived in Dubai for a year in 2005, which usually went from 6+ celsius in the morning with 100% humidity and up to 55 in the summer. My problem wasn't really the heat, but at that location on the Earth the sun is directly above you most of the afternoon, so it's hard to find shade. The worst part for me was actually all the stores and "inside" places cranking the A/C down to like 12 degrees. I hated that. 36 degrees sounds hot, but fine. I'd enjoy it, as long as there's sun. Makes me a happyface :D

i guess a year in such a place is not enough to make you hate it to death. ive lived here for almost 12 years, and admittedly, the temperatures wont go near as high as 36 or 55, but its enough to make you sweat to death in a matter of seconds. also there be a huge fuck off hole in the ozone just above me.

and as to the AC, id crank it down to 12, but it goes down to 17 only :( (at work that is) which usually triggers epic battles for the ac remote control, which is rather annoying since for some reason women are allowed to wear anything they want (not to mention, the hoez are always cold), whereas us (the two guys at the pharmacy) have to wear long sleeve shirts and ties and the whole thing. equality my ass.

My work tends to have the AC around 17-20, depending how hot or cool it is, but I think it can always be cooler.
When I lived in northern California, there were bad hot days, but summer here is more unbearable, as that ozone hole is directly above us (well, mainly Queensland, and you could not pay me to live there, pretty though it may be). At least there has only been one or two days this summer where the temperature reached 40+. It was about the same last year, so these last two have been less annoying. Before that, it wasn't uncommon for Melbourne to have multiple days of 40+ weather, especially 2008-09, when Black Saturday happened; you could feel the heat from the fires in the suburbs. I do not know how I did not collapse from heat exaustion.

At least it's a couple of degrees cooler today, and it's windy, so I'm willing to go outside.

Northern California does not get that hot unless you live in the valley, and even still it doesn't constitute complaints except for the odd day here and there.

Just sayin'.

^I did live in the valley (Sonoma to be exact). I even lived in Davis for a couple of years, and the Sacramento region seemed to be even hotter. That being said, the bad hot days I experienced then don't really touch the bad hot days I experience now, though I still did not care for those days that left me burnt and/or dry in the mouth.

There weren't no cool change down the road at Sweaty Hollow.
It was still 26C at 3.30 this morning....
I checked.

I was back up at 7. :furious:
Worst. Schlafen. Ever.

Didn't rain until about dawn. Still humid in here. Not a fan of humididity.

My scalp fucking burns, and I have no idea why. This morning I was pulling huge scabs out of my hair and I have weird bumps and shit all over, I feel like I grazed my whole head. It's painful and gross. My friend reckons it could be the hair dye I've been using, but I don't know. I dye my hair all the time, last time being three days ago, and it seems a bit weird to me that it would act up now. Plus I've used that dye before...I don't even know. I just want to stick my head in a bucket of icy water.

On a less crappy and more awesome/indifferent note, today is my first day of uni....take two! Hopefully this degree isn't as shit as the one I did up north. Met a few cool people, and most of today has just been bumming around, had a ten minute lecture and now everyone is just talking amongst themselves.. First assignment is to cover Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know', so that'll be interesting to say the least..
