Resident Evil 6 has been announced. Not quite sure what to think after I've watched the trailer. Looks like Gears of War now. I mean, I love Gears of War but I don't think a Resident Evil game should be like that. Capcom said that Resident Evil 5 was the last of its kind so I was hoping for the series to go back to its roots. So much for that!
I was watched a video on the Xbox dashboard yesterday that Mass Effect 3 is going to have voice controls on Kinect. Kinda thinkin I might need to buy Kinect now...

this!
Hahahaha well it's not moving or anything like that, at least not for ME3, it's actually kind of nice and lessens the immense amount of button commands my brain has to learn. Which is slow anyway. But like for example you can say "grenade" and throw a grenade, or "cover me" and your party will cover you, etc. So the basic game mechanics of moving and firing and stuff are the same, but having voice commands lets you concentrate on just those things I think rather than thinking of having to do all these other things at the same time as well.
Wow I just sounded like an industry exec or something.

well, yeah but which other game would you buy that you could use Kinect with? Most Kinect games are incredibly stupid and bad. I will admit something now...breathe in and out Lars, you can do it...I played that Michael Jackson dance game for Kinect at a party. Yes, I did. And since that day I know that I don't really need Kinect.

I really shouldn't laugh but...HAAAAHAHAHAHAHA.
Sorry Lars <3

it's one of those occasions in life where you do something because you don't wanna be the party pooper and then afterwards you hope and pray that no one filmed it and put it on youtube

...and no, it's not on youtube

Pffft the Kinect is for getting high and playing with Cookie Monster.
AS FOR MASS EFFECT: The only use I really see for it is for switching weapons, taking time to line up the powers is the only way I can survive above the lowest difficulty.
Oh yeah, and I played through 1 as a shotgun totin' lady, and have gotten about halfway through 2 as the same. Commando is actually really fun in 2, and so is sniping. Things I'd never thought I'd enjoy in a game.
When 3 comes out, we're doing multiplayer. ALL of you. I've not decided what I'd be, but it's pretty clear some of y'all are krogans and quarians already, so I don't know, maybe a Turian? Maybe a human female with a shotgun?

So anyone get into anything new over the Christmas period?
I'm still doing the Skyrim thing but I'm lucky I get 6 or so hours in a week.
My current lifestyle only really allows for iPhone gaming right now. Hug your consoles and computers, folks. You never know when you'll see them next.

Serious bug starting to appear in Skyrim. Shoulda guessed...
Such a huge game with so many world objects to load - the savegame filesizes start to become enormous. It seems that once the file gets around 17mb or larger...unavoidable Crashes To Desktop (to use the PC term) start happening in certain areas of the game.
If you happen to be inside a dungeon or interior "cell" at the time, it'll CTD trying to exit and: you're fucked.
You can reload a previous save, but it will happen again shortly after. Kinda like the "A-bomb" animation freeze glitch in Oblivion. It isn't helped by the game keeping objects such as weapons (and even every arrow) from previous battles laying about across the landscape. Nirnroots are back, and respawn this time. They glow brightly and make the same ringing noise as in TES4, but when respawning, a new layer of "glow" is added on top of the previous one...which eventually leads them to being bright enough to rival the Sun (or whatever Nirn's star is called).
Another flawed masterpiece. These guys can't make any other sort of game.
Yet another (1.4) patch coming out in the next coupla weeks; though I didn't read anything about fixing this big mess in the update details. I had to shelve my first character (level 66, 460 hours played
) until hopefully this gets sorted.
Sorted by Bethesda, and not ignoring the problems until the modding community do their job for them.

What do you guys think of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, L.A. Noire and Mafia II? I want to get one of the three, but don't know which one.
AC I want because I don't want to get behind on the series and because I enjoyed AC 1 and 2.
L.A. Noire just looks amazing in terms of story etc. and the setting/time is very attractive to me.
It's basically the same story as L.A. Noire for Mafia II.

In terms of length I think AssBro will keep you occupied the longest (if you enjoy doing all the sidequesting). Gameplay-wise it's pretty much AC2 but this time in Rome, although with slightly improved fighting mechanics.
Mafia II has a decent story, but it's an empty world otherwise. Compared to the original one it's just not as good (dunno if you played that). If the choice was between Mafia 2 and LA Noire, pick LA Noire. It tries something new with the interrogations, has a somewhat darker story and I found the 40's/50's atmosphere more believable in LA Noire.
Out of the 3 games I think Mafia 2 is the weakest one. For the other 2 it depends what you're looking for: AssBro will satisfy your runny/jumpy/climby/fighty needs, LA Noire is much less an action game but requires you to think more. If all else fails, go for whichever one is cheapest.

Al right thanks. They are all the same price. I was leaning towards Mafia II, but I haven't played the original. Seeing as everybody says Mafia II is very empty without DLC, I think I'll go for 'AssBro'. That seems the most complete game.
But I'll wait for other advice here, first.

Never played Mafia II because everyone I know who bought it said it was a pile of shit so I can't weigh in on that one personally... L.A. Noire I liked, but it gets very repetitive very quickly and also is just stupidly easy after a while. I felt that they could have done so, so much more with it. I love all the Assassin's Creed games and Brotherhood is probably the best of the lot, I think. That being said, the story of Assassin's Creed is a pretty sprawling one so if you haven't played the first two AssCreed games then jumping right into Brotherhood might not be the best option either.
So essentially what I've done here is given you no real help in deciding at all.
