When you said Djing, I assumed you meant you mean putting DT/SYL in between like Snoop Dogg and Ghetto Boys (which I personally think would've been pretty rad), but that's wayyy more badass Djing than I expected! Nice job.

oh pshaw. i'm all about pushing the envelop and playing as much non-goth and industrial as i can, but i can't push it TOO hard... however when i play a lot of metal, people seem to dig it. someone always come up and asks about dalek when i play them too, but that doesn't surprise me because they're like shoegaze with rap...

That's a pretty sweet playlist.

So it's a huge New Mexico thing to roast green chile in the early fall, everywhere smells like it and it's gotta be one of the best smells in the world. I was driving past a bunch of roasters roasting today and couldn't pass it up, so bought a half bushel of the stuff which should last me for the better part of a year. Damn excited cuz it makes anything taste better- burgers, eggs, sandwiches, etc. Nom nom nom...

That sounds pretty awesome, and tastey. I do the same with salsa, basically putting it on anything, burgers, pizza etc... I make my own salsa, as it's quite better than the store bought one around here.

I came home from the States recently with bags and bags of guajillo, ancho and New Mexico chillies (we spell it differently, it's all good), plus about a dozen different hot sauces. I'm not some hardcore chilli fiend and I don't claim to have an asbestos tongue, but I do love it. It really does make everything better. That and smokiness (hence my love of chipotle). And you're right, eggs without chilli just aint eggs.

We drove through parts of NM, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Oklahoma and Arizona a couple of months ago. Fun times. Bloody HOT, fun times.

Yum. :)
This all sounds delish. I haven't had much chipotle, only the McIlhenny's version. 8)
Of course, playing Fallout New Vegas - I'm running around the Mojave picking jalapeños like a madman...

Yeah, I'm not much of one either, and I think that's why I love green chiles. You can get them nuclear hot but they honestly I think that ends up killing it. If the spice outweighs the flavor then your mouth is just on fire and what fun is that? A happy medium, methinks. The "state question" here (yes, we have a state question  ) is red or green, and I'm definitely a green man, such a unique flavor. Really, I think I'd only pick red in Huevos Rancheros or Enchiladas. Not that reds bad, just green is superior. And YES, I must have them on my eggs or it's bleh. For shiram, salsa's my alternative when I run out of chiles/am too lazy to buy more :D .
Where'd you go in NM JuZ? I find most people, namely those in my own country, don't know we're even a state, so...

I have such a high tolerance for spicy that I find the flavor in Guatemalan insanity peppers, so the spicier the better : D

Habaneros and jolokias, my favorites.
I must admit, though, there are times when I'm happier to eat the (somewhat) milder ones, just so my bowels don't punish me later.

We scooted across the northeastern corner (along the 87 from Clayton, through Folsom and Raton) on our way from Texas up to Colorado to see the Rockies.

On our way back down we arced around through Utah (to see Arches NP), then wound our way down to your town of Albuquerque (only stayed the night as we were on a tight schedule). Went through Roswell and enjoyed the disappointment that goes with it, ha! Cows. Lots of cows and men who like cows in Roswell. Then on to Carlsbad for the AWESOME caverns and back across the border to TX.

My impressions of NM is that the people were by and large friendly. There were some bushfires that reminded me (sadly) of home and which caused at least one major detour for us. It was extremely bloody hot, extremely dry and extremely dusty, all of which I was hoping to experience in New Mexico! :D Carlsbad Caverns was an experience I'll never forget and I wish we had more time so we could have experienced more of the food, culture and so on. Was hoping to catch Duke City Derby (my wife is a roller derby girl) but the timing wasn't right.

Yeah the whole hot food thing - I think a lot of it comes down to natural tolerance. You can really build it up but if you start from a really low base you're only gonna get so far, I think. So I think for most people it's about finding that perfect blend of flavour and heat, so that you can enjoy the burn without feeling too uncomfortable. And that varies from person to person. Then you just get the macho thing where it's all about showing off, but I think that's a minority thing!

Sorry, double post! The McIlhenny's is great, I have a couple of big bottles that get a regular workout. But being McIlhenny's it's quite vinegary so it's not perfect for everything. I even bought a Taco Bell chipotle for the lulz but haven't tried it yet. Hopes are not high!
