Slatewoman: You're the first person besides my roommate I've known to mention The Angelic Process, ever. What a sad story to very cool band. That sort of thing is not usually my cup of tea and you need to catch me in the right mood, but wow.

yeah, i'm not really surprised. they're probably the most obscure band i listen to. i'd be interested to find more projects like it because sometimes their crappy production is just too much and i can't take it. nadja are quite similar, but they're one of those bands that has 15-30 minute songs. what i like about the angelic process is that they're they're the concentrated soup of drone metal. songs are shorter, but way WAY more epic.

I've heard of them before too. I don't know hardly a thing about them. I'm not usually into that sort of music, but I do happen to like their album 'Weighing Souls With Sand'. :)

Hello there, i'm Sighlex, been and old time listener of "Le" Devin Townsend

I've been hesitate to write here for a long time for many reason, my english is "frenched" (because i'm french) and the way i feel this music is sometimes way too personal for me to discuss it on the web.
But hey... i finally think that the exchange is more profitable than turning inwards and keep all the things music bring you for yourself. It's both an obvious and complicated thing to understand. (thaks online translator for this one)

So i'm gonna read you more than i'll write.
But it's okay.
Peace!

Well, I'm not exactly out of the "new" category in this forum yet either, but welcome anyway! Don't worry about your English, it can't be anywhere near as terrible as my French. (I can only count to three.) :)

You've got an excuse, French is a difficult langage. Most of french people cannot count to three neither. ;-) (Thanx for the welcome)

Hi, I'm Nina, 18-year-old (ok, soon 19...) girl from Finland. I've gotten into Devin's music quite recently - I officially became a fan when I saw DTP live in Tuska Open Air this year. I had listened to Addicted before that, as well as some SYL many years ago, and loved it, but wasn't familiar with his other stuff. That show, however, changed things. Now I own most of Devin's discography and it appears to be full of awesomeness. (Still in the process of digesting it all, though) I just really like how versatile he is... easily one of my favourite artists ever, already. Maybe it says something that I'm considering tattooing the DTP logo on my arm. Not like right now, but someday...! Eh, sorry for sounding like a rabid fangirl but that's what I am... sometimes.

Oh, and the reason why I registered on this forum was this topic, actually... the slideshow @ Tuska was so epic and I wanted to know who did it :D

^Yeah! Thanks a lot! And it's so great that Devin posts here, too. He seems to really appreciate his fans - yet another reason to like him. :D

HELLO!! WELCOME!!!

Im new here as well, my name is James, im 26 and I discovered Devin thru the Ziltoid release in 2007.. ok, I saw SYL in 2006 at download, so that was my first exposure.. but compared to some of you, im a bit of a late bloomer.. but my god, its been an incredible ride.. devin makes up most of my concious listening and most of my unconcious.. i fell asleep during ghost once and woke up thinking i could play the flute.. Im currently a student, for the 2nd time may i add - i did my first degree in creative music production, so that takes up most of my spare time - being a budding electronica producer.. theres a link to my stuff in the musicians corner of you fancy a peek.. ill be most happy.. but now im an ODP student...

"what?" i hear you cry... goooh fine..

Damn, why is everyone going to the DVD shows in London but me... it wouldn't even bug me so much if I wasn't actually *going* to London in November, just a week too early. I would love to attend the shows but they were already sold out when I started thinking it seriously. What also makes it tricky is that I'm travelling with three other people, and we've agreed on the date long ago, etc. But I'll stop whining now :D At least I can get the dvd's then!

...I'm still forever jealous to you, Tall-Latte, and everyone else going to the Deconstruction show... good for you, enjoy it! And thanks for welcoming me :)

Hey everybody, I'm new here. I learned about Devin Townsend's music by seeing him last year at Bloodstock in the UK. Awesome show! In the meanwhile, my girlfriend and me have around 8-9 albums. And also saw him at Bloodstock this year, again. Again, a most awesome show! :) Soooo, I thought I came here to lurk around a bit. And with one more ulterior motive, but that'll be for another place on this board. :)

Cheers from Belgium! :)
