LOVE that game. My favorite of the Doom series. The Icon of Sin is INSANE

Right now I'm browsing Netflix, trying to find something to watch while I fall asleep. I'm going through that patch where nothing on Watch Instantly looks good.

Agreed. The Master Levels are also nuts, particularly Bad Dream on Ultraviolence (you vs an antechamber full of Cyberdemons). I tend to play it once or twice a year, just for the sake of doing so.

I haven't played the Master Levels yet. I didn't even know they existed 'till you just brought them up.

Needless to say, I just youtubed them and I wanna get my hands on a copy of Master Levels real bad.

wishing i'd gotten up earlier today because it's the first cloudy, cool day in a couple weeks. instead of going outside, i'm downloading korn's early albums to see if what my friends say is true, that they were actually quite good despite their idiotic image and fanbase. i was too busy listening to peter gabriel when korn was big.

I was never really a Korn fan (what with all the posturing, much of it from their fans but also from the band), but I guess you have to give them credit for having a sizeable influence. I remember hearing songs like Blind for the first time and thinking it was pretty good stuff.

What I'm doing right now... fending off a cold. Got chicken soup cooking and am hitting the vitamin C and loads of water. Fun times.

agreed. i really can't talk too much shit on them these days now that i've gotten into a lot of groups that cite them as an influence of whatever sort. i grew up in a house of eclectic music snobs so i had a pretty decent understanding of what's actually good and what's just throw-away garbage but i remember hearing korn for the first time and knowing it was something new, something aggressive, something way angrier than anything i'd ever heard before and that it resonated really strongly with me. i just didn't like it because i was too young to separate it from the pop culture surrounding it. i guess all bands do some level of posturing, but korn were so overt about it. it's really off-putting and makes me question the authenticity of ANY group who seems to put so much importance on something like overpriced tracksuits.... it's also notable that most of the people i knew who listened to korn were also backstreet boys fans. one of them insisted i sit down and listen to BSB's second album with her because "it's kind of industrial". oh, to be 15 again...

huur durr long-winded reply is long-winded. i just have a real taste for spastic metal and prominent bass. anything that offers that is worth a shot or a second. or maybe korn really were just crap but had presented a cool idea for others to perfect.

I think you're probably on the money... they came up with a really interesting new sound and they have to be given credit for that, even if they were pretty limited and seemed to be obsessed with some sort of image.

Industrial Backstreet Boys? I dunno, I think they're more post-industrial. I saw them tour with Einstürzende Neubauten once.

jonathan davis' voice really bothers me. it's like he wants to be mike patton but is somehow trying to do it via marilyn manson...

have you ever seen neubauten live? changed my fucking life. i didn't listen to anything but them for 6 solid months and it totally changed the way i perceive music.

I haven't, must admit. I'm appallingly apathetic when it comes to live music, despite how much I love it.

I would imagine it would be quite amazing!

You're a clever twat, I wont wish you luck 'cause you wont need it, but cram like hell.

I'm currently revelling in my own technological glory, after stripping down an old Xbox360 Arcade external hard drive, and installing it into a new 4Gb slim model like a pro.
