I leave Japan in a few days for good. I don't want to, especially to go to South Carolina, but I need to do so. Feeling the disconnection. That always drains me. Oh well, at least I get to hang out in Seattle for a couple of days. I looooooove Seattle.

Jaysus... Hope the shift in everything isn't too rough on you! Hopefully you'll come to love the new spot as much as you loved Japan in time...

I feel bad for even complaining, considering the real pain others are enduring. I hope all of you who are in straits have improving paths very quickly!

To answer: I lived in Japan for 5 years as a weather forecaster for the US Air Force. Granted, a good portion of it was spent deployed away, but I think I've put a good amount of travel/sightseeing in Japan while I could. I only missed going to one island of the main 4. Those of you in the southeast US: Prepare for Typhoon Skrimp!

$6 paycheck last week. $40 paycheck this week. no sign of change, no prospects.
but! i got the pay periods confused and was prepared to not get paid at ALL this week because my schedule is so fucked up, so i was able to buy my first cd in 3 months even though i feel kind of guilty for it.

I don't see any reason to feel guilty for treating yourself. Especially at a time when you probably really need it. Music is all about feeling good. :) Enjoy!! Take care of yourself.

agreed... at least it means i hardly ever have to go to work. it's seriously the shittiest job i've ever had, makes dishwashing at the only 24 hour diner downtown on friday and saturday nights seem like a cakewalk!

The situation can be best explaining through song.
