Thanks, guys! You're all so sweet. He's doing a bit better, getting him to take his medicine is really awesome fun. (irony)

I've learned that the gradual destruction of brain cells this causes is not always a bad thing. I didn't need my memory anyway. :P And sanity is over-rated too.

Thanks for the reminder. God am I going to be stupid in 15 years.

Yeah. Memory. What was that again?

Srsly, I can't remember anything about yesterday.

I'm also having all kinds of spatial hallucinations.

And this beautiful anger. I used to think it came from me judging my state and that someone was responsible for it, but lately I've started to think it has more to do with what you may get when you disturb someone in their deepest sleep. Or when you wake up a bear from its winter sleep. Only I haven't been woken up, but I'm just so very fucking tired. I think that's where the anger comes from. Its blind and burning, and I don't see it really emerging from any (more or less) rational thoughts.

Maybe it is some kind of evolutionary way to make sure we get sleep. People start behaving ruthlessly and selfishly if they don't get to sleep otherwise. Although that's just me.

Hey you insomniacs, I know you people are here. Tell me what happens to your world when you don't sleep.

I frequently cannot sleep until after 1 or 2am. Leaves me feeling like a zombie, pissed off all morning (or lethargic, depends). In the afternoon & evening I feel more vibrant. I guess I've been more nocturnally inclined since puberty.
Only thing I can suggest is a sleeping agent, whether pills or herbal tea. Maybe booze, but not too much, a hangover won't make things better, just a couple of shots. Masturbating helps as well.
CBS cares.

That is the next thing I will try. I've heard from so many people that it helps. My doctors tell me not to because "then I'll have a drug problem" but I'm starting to get the feeling they just have to say that so they wont get their asses sued.

What do you mean?

I feel good if I get eight hours of sleep. I can get by with less or no sleep for one night if I don't have a serious amount of sleep debt.

For the last three months I haven't slept more than 6 hours a night. Most nights have been around three hours and some nights I haven't slept at all. So the average of sleep I get per night would sum up to around three hours, where it should be around eight.

Although I don't know if it really "should" be around eight. Someone who claimed to be studying medicine told me on the internets that a brain can get used to less sleep. That is an interesting idea, and it kinda would fit into the fact that people get by with different amounts of sleep, but I'm not so sure about it. My dad told me one once of his friends who thought he was though and could go by with only six hours of sleep. Eventually he burned out and had to retire early.

So in short, Billy, eight hours, I think.

How do you fucking exist??

I have actually two meds for it and I've been on them for years. I doubled the doses recently since I didn't get sleep but it didn't help much. Only left a dark gray and blue blur in my head for the nights. Even with the doubled doses I have nights I don't sleep.

Booze doesn't help me, I've tried. With meds and without meds. With meds they just cancel each other out, in the context of me getting sleep. They don't cancel every effect they have on me, thats for sure.

Masturbating helps sometimes, but it can also leave me thinking about girls and I'll soon get horny again, which isn't gonna help :D
