So sad to hear, Octillus. Hope everything works out. I don't know how I'd handle the situation myself to be honest. I know I'm probably more close to my grandfather just as well. Having to lose a relative like that, its horrible.

Cat had three premature kittens last night. One decided to die about 3am and the other two are still clinging on. One of them even mustered the ability to suckle but the mother has no milk and is generally disinterested in the kittens. I've been keeping them going with tiny syringe and powdered milk.

I'm now debating whether to go to the vet and get the proper colostrum/milk packs and go through all the hassle of two hourly feeds to try and keep the wee buggers alive even though the odds are against them or just chap them on the head and spare them the struggle. I did ask the vet if they had any cats in that had just given birth as I'd have asked if the owners would foster the two we've got but nobody has any right now.

There's a fair chance they may have brain damage from oxygen deprivation and/or other internal issues too. (I think I may have brain damage from sleep deprivation for the past week as well. :| )

It's rough. Go easy on me for a while, you lot, I was closer to him than I ever was to my dad.

You are in my thoughts, dear. I am so sorry - you know where to go for some comfort, I know we all care about you here. I'm sure your relationship with him brought him much joy. That is such a beautiful thing.

ooh Keeks, that's extremely rough :(

Grandfather update: He's come out of his comatose state, he's exceptionally weak, but he's come back as himself (he had a bad head injury) so I was lucky enough to speak with him on the phone for a short while yesterday. I'm going to see him wednesday. Things aren't looking entirely too up, and I realize he could still go at any moment (this will likely be one of the last trips to see him), but it is entirely comforting to know that he'll go as himself, not some comatose man who barely remembers anything.

I realize I am so lucky to have had a relationship with him as a full-grown man. It means a lot.

I wanted to thank you all for the kind words, I'm not much for histrionics here, but it really has brought me comfort to know that so many people from all over care. Thanks again.

sorry to hear all that, Cody. Lost my grandpa and grandma a few years ago within a few months. It sucks indeed. My grandma's death was very unexpected and my grandpa died partly of a broken heart, I think. Had cancer and didn't tell anyone about it because he didn't want to be saved. Anyways...I wish you all the necessary strength you need!

Best wishes to you and yours, Cody.

Kitten update: still alive. Let's see if they can make it through a second night.

All i have to say about Euphonix is, that i was feeling as a Beta-tester since day one.

That sucks. I assume you've sent an email or something?

If not, it'd probably be worth it. Find out whether it's a postal service problem or CMdistro being fools.

I know why I have not gotten it yet, it's stuck in our postal system. Our postal workers went on strike, and all the mail piled up, and so they are slowly sorting it and delivering it.
Just thought I would have gotten it by now.

Well, update, Grandpa's out of the ICU, but he's basically in a rehab facility with the choice to try and get himself going or go straight to hospice. It's all up to him :(
