Alright, so now that I've listened to the damned thing enough, I think I'll finally give my lolopinion.

It's so fucking dense it's not even funny. You can't hear half the shit going on.
That said, it's pretty good. Or so I though on my first listen, after a while it starts to get on my nerves. The whole thing is like if Ziltoid raped Ki and this is the abominable end result.
Praise the Lowered is a great build-up, really digging Dev's screaming vocals. Half the time I forget Kuhr is even in the song, which I find somewhat hilarious. The trip-hop intro sounds like it came from Metroid Prime or something.
Stand. Oh my god Stand. This is the greatest thing ever holy shit. For me, this is the heaviest song on the whole record. The (unexpected) guitar solo is fucking ballin', too.
Juular is kinda annoying, I really don't like the exessive chugging.
Speaking of annoying, I fucking hate that stupid techmetalcorebreakdownshit-riffing at 2:38 in Sumeria. Duplantier's vocals feel REALLY out of place and sound silly.
Not much to say about Planet of the Apes, other than it is awesome and can we have more please.
The intro of MM gives me odd Iron Maiden vibes. And I'll be damned if the "give it up, your world" part isn't the catchiest thing ever. Puciato screaming SSSAAAAATAAAAAANN gives me chills every time.
At first I hated Deconstrucion, but I've warmed up to it and I see it's place on the record. Loving the subtle KANPAI!.
Juular, Sumeria and Pandemic feel unnecessary and they break the flow of the album. They work better when listened to separately.

The whole thing reminds me of Waltari's Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die! A Death Metal Symphony In Deep C, which also has an orchestra AND electronic elements. Though not as crazy and technical (which is a good thing).

tl;dr Many of the shorter songs have potential but ultimately fall flat, too technical for it's own good, gave us a new Devy classic (Stand)

All in all, an okay record. Not his best nor his worst.
I think I'll go listen to Accelerated Evolution for the millionth time to make me feel clean of this album.

I find your opinion interesting, because of how wildly I disagree with parts of it. The one thing I really find interesting is that you call it an "okay record" after praising the hell out of 2/3rds of it. I honestly don't see how anything breaks the flow of this album, though Pandemic on my second listen may have felt that way for a minute. Everything about the DTP has been perfect flow to me, which I find interesting because that hearkens more to OM, Terria, Infinity, and most of Synchestra. Whereas Physicist and AE, while both great in their own ways just don't really have that kinda flow (maybe on a couple of song-to-song transitions but not overall).

Anyway, since you brought up Stand, and since I had mentioned what I thought the subheader should be for the Ghost subforum, I'm nominating "Stand!" for Decon because of well, the track of the same name and the end of Poltergeist.

That's pretty good too. We'll have a poll, of course, before it gets decided.

Monitarcturum: Eh, that's fair man. I wasn't even really looking forward to this one as much as any other parts of the project (I've not really been into "super heavy" things since my teen years), but I really do honestly feel like it's a tremendous album, that flows incredibly well together. Gojira Joe isn't my favorite guest on the album but he still does seem to work in adding in a different kind of texture. Again, obviously this might not be coming from an unbiased source, but I really was floored by the entire composition. Cheers on your opinion, though.

Speaking of polls.

whoever opens the best-song polls for ghost and decon, please enable multiple answer stuff, or a max of two/three picks. It makes the polls much more accurate and picking only one is often just not possible. Thank you! :)

Of course I could open them myself... but I don't want to until the albums have been released. :P

dev releasing decon... singing on a gojira ep....

he's gonna be picking up some more 'heavy music' fans soon...l the label might put pressure to make another heavy album

i hope that isn't the case. the dude should be allowed to make the music he wants
