The guest name ideas are awesome. Z-Toid and the beardy crew ?

Fuck tha O-Creata comin' straight out Ziltoidia 9
A young ziltoidian got it bad 'cos I'm green
I'm not the other species so the humans think
they have the authority to serve me fetid coffee

EDIT: OK, That was terrible.

That reminds me of the time I rewrote Kesha's Tik Tok, but made it about Ziltoid.

Okay, I only had "Wake up in the morning feeling like Ziltoid The Omniscient got my coffee in my hand, I'm gonna rule the universe", but still. You get the point.

gurp13, Dev clarified that Poltergeist/Ghost connection in another thread. And indeed it's right. The same thing (the Poltergeist/the Ghost) but with a different perspective. It kinda represents past mistakes, things you can't control, don't like about yourself, etc. He pointed out the ending lines in the lyrics "might as well marry the Ghost", so where as there's fighting against it on Decon, it's being accepted that it's there on Ghost. Sorry I'm kinda paraphrasing from what I remember of what he said and a similar question I asked, so I'm probably not getting it exactly right but I think that's the gist of it.

I thought I might as well come out of lurkdom to give some thoughts about this album. I think it's definitely one of Dev's best yet.

The Might Masturbator is my favourite by far. I'm assuming that "Save the World", "Turning Black" and "Traestorz" (from the Deconstrupdate 1 video) were seperate songs before being sewn together into the 17 minute epic. It might have been interesting if they were a suite of tracks, but I think having them all as a whole is necessary. Maybe I overanalyze some things haha.

I had an epic dream last night that Devin mounted a massive Decon live show with full orchestra on a shady city street with epic costumes. He flew around in the air with a cape during Juular, and an epic vehicle with his head and a bunch of bloody penises attached to it rolled in during Planet of the Apes. It was great.

I think the songs are great on their own, but the album as a whole its SO much more intense.
dang. :D

I agree! :) The climax of Deconstruction wouldn't be nearly as effective if it weren't for the whole audial adventure that came before it.

I TOO FIND IT HARD TO LISTEN TO DECONSTRUCTION WHEN NOT IN A CHURCH.

Does anyone else think that "Poltergeist" is the biggest grower of the release? I barely gave it much of a thought in my first six listens to the album, but NOW... oh ho ho.

At first it didn't make much sense, having one of the most intense tracks at the end. But now I understand it. The orchestral bit at the end... WOAH. :)

I've mentioned a couple times that Poltergeist was the one I got the most on my first listen, but all the others grew above it afterward. So a complete opposite for me...
