Hallelujah.

But we'd all like to see SYL come back............at least some day.

If you're serious, speak for yourself.

If in jest, absolutely. They're all sure going to be handsome old gents, aren't they?

They should reunite under the name 'Decrepit Old Man'

Only joking...

Same here..........but Decrepit Old Man would make a good album name.

Dev, I really don't care one way or another if SYL ever reunites, I'll still listen to what ever you put out. I just happen to like the heavier stuff over the lighter music.

I see Poltergeist as a poignant reminder that Strapping Young Lad is no more and that the track is sort of one last hoo-hah before finally putting that aspect of Devin's music to rest. The lyrics give me that impression at least. Interestingly I've never really been able to really get into SYL before now, I've always preferred Devin's more melodic solo material. But some of the more crushing tracks on Deconstruction have eased me into the more extreme side of Devin's career and listening through Poltergeist recently really gave me the impetus to go back and explore the full SYL catalogue. It might be a project that's not going to ever resurface but that's hardly an issue when amazing stuff like Alien and TNB are already out.

It's probably a year in the works yet but I'm really looking forward to what 'Epicloud' is going to offer. 'Big, heavy, romantic kind of melodic' sounds like it could be of the caliber of Deadhead and other epics.

If this is directed towards me, I never said any of that.

If not, then I agree. Well I would agree anyway. 8)

From the Epicloud description, I can imagine it having the introspective earthy vibes of Terria, and the big choruses and stripped down instrumentation of Addicted.

I would only like to see a SYL reunion if it was all done acoustic. Like, some ironic display of the nature of the music in today's time or some shit.

I am happy Decon is not "another SYL record". It's heavy as fuck, but in a more...organised chaos fashion. I'm not gonna start analysing the motive behind it or anything; cause to be honest, i'd probably get it all wrong and at the end of the day I just like the way the tunes sound.

The dog just farted on my feet. Yuck.

Nah it was directed at nobody, just general "WHY CAN'T YOU BE SYL ANYMORE?!!" shit I see everywhere Devin is discussed.
