I hope the InsideOut double pack isn't secretly the same as the Century Media one.... I want my slipcases
damn, i wanna get the vinyl, but i like Ghost slipcase so much. hmm, is it 100% sure that there is only common slip in CMdistro?
I can be the space for this

I dunno, I took a risk and bought it though. Will rage like nobody has every raged before in human history if its got the common slip though

I do like the combo-slipcase but I guess I'll be buying the albums again for the individual slipcases as well.
Does ANYBODY (Dev?) know which of the two cases the omerch one will be? They don't when I spoke to them a day or two ago.
If it's the 'one sleeve fits all' like CM them I'm going to have to also get the insideout one to get those separate versions.
I've never known such crazy multiple version fun. Yes, I'm using the word fun ironically.

It kind of is fun for me. It's like collecting comics and action figures all over again with all the "variants." lol

We'll have no way of knowing until they ship it, I'd say. I'm biding my time and not pre-ordering anything for the moment until I know for definite who's got what packaging.
Ah, for the simpler times when there was just a regular version and a special edition version and you just bought a copy on the ebay store or the old HDR shop...

I've ended up ordering both the omerch 2CD and the InsideOut pre-order bundle. If I don't hear anything then I'll just stand buying both of them but if any omerch confirmation turns up to say it's the same as the euro double slip + wrap we've seen pictured then I'll cancel that one ahead of release.
If I'm lucky I'll end up being able to get the double slip + wrap sleeve from InsideOut and the two CD's in one overall case from omerch.
Fingers crossed.

I was thinking along those lines as well but don't have the money to order both at the moment... I'll probably hold off on pre-ordering at all and just buy it on release when people on here get theirs and confirm which is which if Omerch don't confirm which package they have before then.

Sorry, i know Devin has nothing to do with it, but this is another example of stupid marketing.
1. Release is far too late, like i said before they should have released it already (as a download).
2. Preorder should include an immediate download in very good quality (hey label! it leaked already!). Maybe the possibility of at least getting Ghost before it leaks, too, would convince more people to pay now for the preorder.
3. Confusing the fans with three different bundles and packages will turn off some people to buy anything at all. The worst thing is that the "best" bundle isn't available internationally (because of stupid law-reasons between CM and IO, i guess?).
If i weren't a fan and if it weren't absolutely clear for me that i want to support Devin, i eventually wouldn't buy it just because of the confusion. I ordered the insideout-bundle, but now that i see how the cmdistro-version looks, i'm a bit jealous that i couldn't just buy that one. Labels, do you want to make people regret preordering an album?
If the music industry goes down, it's their own fault.
PS: They don't seem to understand at all that it should be easier to buy a record than to download it illegally.

I know that's a whole thread and discussion on it's own, and somewhat off topic for this thread, but yeah - just so right!

What most people do (IE everyone not on these forums)
1) See CD at record store
2) "Oh, cool, new Devin!" *buy*
or
1) Open iTunes/Zune/Amazon MP3 store
2) "Oh, cool, new Devin!" *buy*
Most people probably do not give a rat's ass about pre-ordering, lol.

I think if CMDistro offered the individual slipcases with the albums then pretty much everyone would choose that option bar those who have a problem with the shipping costs, and of course those whom it's not available to. Obviously the idea that each bundle would have it's own perks explains why they can't all be the same, but I think to save confusion and general dicking around, all instances of the albums as a set should be as InsideOut pictures: Each album with their individual slipcases and the common slip. Because that's basically what this is all about, people want the slipcases, but they want the goodies too. I suppose they couldn't really have pre-empted that though, because personally I like the idea of getting the cool little dual slipcase, it's kinda special and cool in it's own way. Like ppinkham said, I'll probably end up buying the individual albums with their respective slipcases down the track too. If they offer them signed on omerch like Addicted and Ki, I'll just buy all four. Then buy Addicted with a slipcase from HDR because omerch pictures it without....sigh, it's neverending, ain't it.

I really don't know, i would guess that most people today see on some website (Facebook, Blabbermouth, whatever) that there`s a new Devin. If there's a direct link to a free streaming site plus the possibility of purchasing it with 3 clicks (options: compressed download only, uncompressed download or download + CD-(pre)order) i would guess that many people would listen to it a few times (if they are interested) and then buy it, if they have the money and want to support the artist (and i think thats the majority of people who care for music like Devin's). No need to search for illegal, leaked, transcoded, no-fake versions.
For example there was this post on Metalsucks ("Thot is hot") with such a link (to bandcamp or soundcloud, don't know) and one and a half listens later i just bought the cd-version of the Thot-CD for 15 bucks (+ flac-download). Listened to the flacs some days and with some distance i would say: ok, maybe i wouldn't have spent 15 $ for that after listening to it for a few days. It's a cool album but my enthusiasm lasted not very long. But it's fine, they deserve some support. But they "caught" me, because it was so simple.
Another example: I read that Devin suggested Xerath. I googled, found some youtube-vids. Only one worked, the others were blocked in my country by youtube because of stupid legal issues. I went to myspace, they want me to become a member, plus my computer keeps freezing on that shitty site. So, sorry Xerath, maybe you are great, but your chance is over for the moment. I have to look at other interesting things now. Maybe i try again sometimes.
But maybe it's just me and you are in fact right.
Sorry for being a bit off-topic.
