Decon is getting better and better the more i listen to it. It's a fking monster now. the way it's written and mixed is amazing.
To me music can't sound bigger than this untill a guy starts to sample supernovas, exploding gas planets and farting elephants.
I will buy it and show it to my pals. :)

Sigh. CMDistro eh? Took 6 months for my preorder of "Addicted" to show. Looks like no preordering for me.
Reckon I'll just grab it in a store and buy some shirts from HevyDevy themselves. Wants me a DTP hoodie and would rather the artist have my cash than the suits that said "no need for an Irish gig".

Though it's a part of Dev's personality to be humble, this.

Bask a little bud. Decon delivered exactly what I hoped it would. You should be proud of it.

Masdival should have used the vocoder though...

Haven't listened to Decon in a couple of days, but I thought that he does. Just not as prominent as you hear with Cynic.

The processing on his voice is very subtle...it's certainly not the Masdival signature. Dev does some harmony that's heavily processed, I think. But no robo-voice, none of the soaring otherworldly Traced in Air style.

I want a new Cynic album too. Traced in Air rules.

Quite my point as well - while mine matters little. Dev has "a validation of complete strangers"... (a quote from Kaapelitehdas gig) as being a great individual with strengths and weaknesses and a charismatic personality. While he may speak of himself as not really being a musician while not feeling up - he's not really accurate there. A number of riffs isn't what makes you a musician anyway. Complexity in music isn't interesting without substance beyond mathematics. Dev's stuff has substance regardless of format. It isn't probably a co-incident that the cover has themes in purple, dark blueish greenish grays with dark firey orange - Decon really plays in those colors. I guess synesthetics may have a part in that, but I don't really know about that stuff.

Anyways, Sir Dev, you live and breathe music while you wish for it or not - luckily for us you have an outlet for it. This is merely an observation and not an arse-kiss.

DTP seems to build up into a song more than a bundle of albums. While Decon is impressive with all of the parts where Dev is playing himself down and doing sabotage on it while on it - it's a solid piece of work if there ever was one. After bazillion listens I feel it really actually would benefit of an off-broadway stage act. It really is the best peace of musical/freak show presentation ever - even if it does make me feel bad for Dev having been on a mindset all this came "naturally". Ki still is among my favorite albums ever - Addicted being just good in comparison. Ki is really powerful.

I have no doubt Ghost will be exactly what's called for to complete the DTP song. I am expecting Ghost to be the thing I am wanting to listen to when I am on summer vacation in the summer cottage: It's night, it's warm and quiet outside, kids and the Mrs are asleep, it's airy and hurriedless. I have a set of good headphones and good coffee. And everything is just fine.

Third listen, with good headphones this time. Also removed the clipping from all the mp3's, which has made it a more enjoyable listening experience as well.

It's definitely becoming easier to process and digest this beast. Although the techno bit in Masturbator and the title track as a whole still give me some indigestion.

Some songs like "masturbator" and "Deconstruction" took me 3-4 listens before I started getting into them (heard that I WOULD love them instantly, but just had to get to know them. This shit isn't like" Poker Face" by Lady Gaga that is cool for 1-2 listens until it starts becoming an exercise in torture). After listening through the entire album like 5-6 times now, I gotta say you really nailed it 100% as usual. So hectic, humorous, melodic and CHAOTIC.

This.

I had to look at the lyrics to see that he wasn't saying, "Saruman!" I actually thought he was. LOL
