Just listening the first time through my speakers. Damn, you're right! The headphones are good for the details but it's another dimension through speakers.

By the way i really enjoy Dev's fretless bass playing.

This bears repeating... I have Sony MDR-V6's, and while they're not exactly audiophile headphones, they haven't had a problem getting the most out of 99% of my music. For Decon though, I noticed last night that when I unplugged the phones, I was hearing all sorts of backing vocals and samples that I just never really noticed on my headphones. Maybe it was just me listening too loud, or maybe even 320 kbps isn't enough... but it's worth noting.

Just wanted to say by the way since I haven't yet Dev, this album is amazing. Can't wait to preorder! This will be on repeat easily for a long time to come. Dev, there any chance in the future of getting another pro-tools video update with all the tracks etc? I can't even imagine how many tracks there are on some of these monsters.

Did I hear correctly that Dev didn't do the final mix on this? Is it possible that the sessions are just so big that he needs moar hardware (ProTools HD3 / Avid C24 <3) than his own studio has to play the session files?

No, he purposely had Jens Bogren (is that his last name? not sure..) do that part, simply because it'd be too time-consuming for Dev himself to do it well. I'm paraphrasing, but that was the main idea behind it.

Tremendous!!! I listened through Ki yesterday and at several points I thought my sound settings were off as I was sure there was supposed to be a guitar piece, or ambient section playing during certain parts. Just started listening to Addicted and realised where those missing background wonders had been all along. :D
All three albums work so fucking beautifully together I just can't find the words for it.

I agree wholeheartedly that all 3 are mighty damn heavy, each in their own way. They're each a Neutron Star, either spinning at near light speed or cramming impossible matter into Plank lengths, always serene yet always crushing. Beautiful, horrifying, awe inspiring and completely ridiculous all at the same time.

What an amazing album. I saw Dev play a riff on deconstrupdate 1 ages again that I had a feeling would be doomed to end up on a leftover track, but sure enough there it was, about 5 mins into the mighty Masturbator. That completed it for me!

OK, this is probably just me, but I'm getting a Eurythmics-like vibe from the pace, rhythm, and delivery of the lyrics in a couple places.

From Stand, this part in the beginning:
"Some may leave us
…Take us or leave us..."

And now in POTA
"I SAY HAVE IT YOUR WAY!
I STAY HEAVY FOR MY GOD!"

Reminds me of "Sweet Dreams", i.e.,
"Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused"

Anybody else hear/feel it?

edit: Just heard it again in Sumeria

"Shower the world where it's trying to be.
How the memories have taken a leave.
Now they're here and they're lying to me!
Accountable man, nothing is free."

"Sweet dreams are made of these,
Who am I to disagree..."
