I prefer Ghost.

And just so we don't get all religion vs. not, my view again is that 'I have no idea' ... so I guess I'm some sort of agnostic. To not spend much time talking about it makes the most sense I think.

But really, it comes down to 'I have no idea'.

I'll leave it at this tonight, sorry to talk so much shit.

My personal summary:

Ghost > Decon (prefer)
God = ?
Downloading = fine
Me = dumber every day

I'm an idiot. goodnight.

I'd almost say you seem more Humanist than anything. You focus on what we are and like to dissect our intentions and emotions and what we try to be.

Yep. There's a reason I enjoy me my Devs and my Kurt Vonnegut novels on a fairly even keel :P

Ihsahn: It's massive. I can understand how you might feel differently from I do, but I'm of the opposite viewpoint. I think TMM is one of the most complete songs I've EVER heard. Thematically, musically (everything resolves, despite all of the genre bends), hell, conceptually.

Being honest, I'm still early on in listens, but I think the only major slight I can give to Decon is that, I don't think you can listen to just one song, or out of sequence, the exception being Juular, and I guess Poltergeist (though it carries SOOOO much more weight at the end of the listen).

Stand and TMM are among the finest things Dev's ever done, I can say that with confidence now, the rest I need to digest for a while.

Went through the vids people put up and holy mother of all marbled meats this thing is massive. Dev's rewrote the book several times already, it's hard to think he could do it again but he did. Holy friggin' shiz.

Wasn't even a full listen through but it was enough. I can wait for the pre-order and such now.

Congrats Dev, it's everything I hoped it would be.

Wasn't Z2 a full scale musical? (or did that get scrapped?)

As far as I know, it's still in production. Whether or not Epicloud will come first or not, I don't know. I remember him saying that he wanted to do something less insane before moving on to more Ziltoid zaniness.

In one of Devin's more recent interviews he stated that instead of a second Ziltoid album, there will be ZTV. Here's the interview:

The Ziltoid part starts at about 1:56.

In other news, I am still in awe of this album. It is perfect.

I have to say, after five listenings, the Save the World part is a little bit better now that I know the odd time signature/melody switch.

One of my favorite parts of that track. Somehow reminds me of Infinity.

I didn't want to post right after listening for the first time 'cause the joy was so immense that a rational comment would be impossible.

Now that I listened it a couple of times, I can say this: HOLY SHIT. I literally couldn't sleep after it. It's so hyperbolical (is that a word?), chaotic and absurd that your head hurts. If brains were supposed to be melted after Decon, you did a great fucking job, Dev.

I give Decon 9 out of 10, it's not 10/10 because it's a quite exhausting experience, yet wonderful. I find impossible to listen Decon twice in a row.

Ps: Ghost appears to be a perfect fit for Decon. Can't wait for the full experience. I'll see God in my room, that's for sure.

barackobaka wrote:I wonder if god and the universe will come up in Dev's lyrics as much after this? All that stuff seems have to been exorcised and resolved in the title track (in the most mindblowing few minutes of music I've heard!)

I hope to still see themes regarding the universe and other heavy topics. That's one reason I love Dev so much; he topics that come up in his lyrics are extremely profound and tend to go beyond human comprehension.

All I've been doing is thinking about God and death infinity!

In the morning bout three or so, can't stop thinking about the universe!

Piracy/leaks can be a great way of getting some exposure, I'm sure Dev knows that, even though there can potentially be downsides if not enough people decide to play fair. I, however, like I always do, will be buying this CD on day one because it's WELL worth the purchase.

Money spent blindly is usually bad money spent. Money spent where I know what I'm getting is worth twice as much, because I know that it's being soundly invested and that the investment is going to a place where I'm proud to put it.
