It doesn't sound like it's 192 either. My guess is some yayhoo encoded it to 128kbps then upscaled it to 192.

You may be right, but i think that Deconstruction is an absolute nightmare for any compression-algorithms, even at higher bitrates.

I just finished my first listen. Man, this album is HUGE. This album went places that I NEVER expected it to go! Which in my opinion is actually quite refreshing. The Might Masturbator completely fucked my head, and imo is the standout track of the album. The album is just brutal and insane, and then wtf?! I love it!!!

Honestly though the one track I just didn't quite "get", was the title track.. When I heard the live clips I was a bit turned off by the "fart jokes", and in the context of the album, it still turns me off. Just could not get into this one on first listen. I can only hope it will grow on me though, I will definitely be giving it more listens.

But even still, on first listen there's only one track that I'm iffy about so I'm pretty damn pleased!

I have to say I did not expect the heaviness of this album at all. Comparing it to SYL, it's definately a more grown up heavy. It's shattering, but totally symphonic and stunning at the same time. I can't describe it in any other way than when I tweeted Dev the other day saying it's like having your spine realigned by a 6"3 marine. Kinda scary, but FEELS SO GOOD.

It's not SYL. But I'm fucking glad it isn't.

Aye, praise aside- on other forums I sneak around on (and on last.fm, as you know), people have been whinging everywhere as they were expecting another 'Alien'.

No sorry, Decon and Alien are a world apart and how people could even begin to compare them is beyond me, personally. They're completely different animals. SYL ain't happening again, and bitches need to deal with it. :P

Yeah I don't get it either, but I think more people are left scratching their heads than you would think.
Agreed on it being mature though, its a shitstorm of monumental proportions, but it also has its shit together :P
My brain hurts afterward though...

I haven't gone over the lyrics yet, but I'm assuming that with the title track, Devin is discussing the humor that stems from the absurdity of trying to find the answers to God, death and infinity (and all that other heavy stuff he loves to bring up). I can't WAIT to dig into these lyrics though, as well as Ghost's.

And in regards to "HEY! IT'S NOT SYL!" I agree, but I fucking love it. With Dev's music, we get to see him go through the ages. SYL was angsty and angry (and he was off his meds IIRC), his solo stuff was more zany and funny (which just shows his great personality), and with the Project we see him at a later, much mature age. Decon, to me, is all of that original anger and Ghost is Dev accepting life for what it is. No need to question existence. No need to ponder infinity. I for one would like to know how Dev found his peace. Love? Family? Perhaps I'll have to comb through the lyrics more.

Yeah. Why?

Serious that so many people have listened to it and no one has paid for it? I am excited to hear it sounds awesome, but wish it was a surprise I got apon my CDs arriving in my mailbox.
