I think alot of the knuckle-dragging "FUUUH KIIIING' metAAAALLL!!!" crowd isn't going to get it. Their loss.

What if you 'get it' but don't like it because it's not very good? Devin's a great musician and all, but I get the feeling that Deconstruction's going to be a bit of a letdown.

Explanation? It seems to start off alright, the middle is a bit shitty and the ending is probably the best bit. Seems to suffer from a lack of direction a bit and the bloke from Gojira doesn't seem to add anything. Hopefully the reason it's been leaked is because it's not one of the strongest on the album and the following release will be far superior as a whole. To be fair, Decon was never going to be my favourite.

You're basing your assessment of an ALBUM on an incomplete SONG. Also, you said "To be fair, Decon was never going to be my favourite." Thereby proving further that you don't base your opinion on evidence but speculation and supposition. Opinions that are formed like that I try to ignore. A lot of newbies are going to be coming to the forum because of Deconstruction and Ghost. I don't think it's out of the question for someone to voice their opinion on something they've just heard, whether it's their first post or not..

As someone who dabbles with creativity, I find the people that pick apart and give criticism to be far more valuable than the ones that just go "OMG AWESOME" to everything that comes out...

Oh, I don't mind it. I just think it's funny. It smells faintly of troll, in my experience. Moonburp strikes me, so far, as not as troll.

I LOOOOOVE a good argument. What I don't like is troll bait. And Moonburp has already proven to be of the former, not latter. But I can't see a very good argument with one a part of one song heard for an entire album. Can you?

I was talking about the song, anyway. I know full well that you can't judge an album on one song, which is why I'm waiting until the full album. It'll probably make more sense in the context of the whole album.

I would caution anyone who feels underwhelmed, unimpressed, or whatever, to not take the song out of the context of the album (which admittedly right now you kinda have to...). Decon is going to be a concept album like Ziltoid, some of Ziltoid's tracks taken individually may illicit a "huh?" or a "meh" reaction but in the context of the album fit perfectly and serve their purpose well.

Just sayin'.
