Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

I've since seen footage of these spontaneous death-inspired street parties and I found them pretty sickening. Chanting "U-S-A" like they just won bronze in the 200m freestyle or something.

I've had a bit of time to digest this and I keep thinking: What ever happened to justice? It appears to have been replaced by indefinite detention, and now we just shoot guys on sight if they "resist" (there appears to be some confusion as to what the exact orders were should they find him so I can't really comment). We even have politicians saying things like "it's nice to have some revenge". I am sure it is Mr Giuliani. If I lost a loved one in a terrorist attack I'd gladly peel the bastards' skin off with a rusty lawnmower blade, but that's not how we conduct a civilised society, is it? To hell with a trial or any of that irrelevant crap? People, including Giuliani, compared bin Laden to Hitler, but geez, even scumbag Nazi chiefs like Hess and Goering got Nuremberg before we topped them.

I get the feeling that we will never know what really happened in that room. The only people that know were there at the time and we either take their word for it or we don't.

I also feel for the people who lost loved ones at the hands of Al Qaeda. his must be stirring up some very difficult emotions for them.

All I can say is that the picture of BL dead is not pretty.

Celebrating his dead may only fuel a fire.

That picture is fake though. The White House is still debating whether they should release the actual picture(s).

Looks like Elton John will be at the funeral, performing the song "Sandals in the bin" :D .

Personally, I think there's something going on here. US would've had some special plans for the body for sure, not dumping it in the sea or whatever. I've seen those fake photos of him dead. I couldn't help but laugh though when one of my workmates thought it was Cat Stevens :) .
Its a great achievement, but at the end of the day It also reminds us of the tragic events of 9/11 and the sadness that came with it. So I won't get too excited, not when there's still conflicts and wars going on around us.

I do not consider it an achievement of anykind.

It's depressing if you consider what real achievements could have been made if the THREE TRILLION dollar (cost for Iraq and Afghanistan wars) had been invested in education and other humanitarian projects in the world.

Republicans, conservatives, and other right-wing ultra Christian assholes all wonder why it is Americans apologize for being American, or even hide it by pretending to Canadian, and avoid the patriotic declarations they all so enjoy shoving down the gullet of the world.

The quoted post is one of the many reasons why. No wonder Superman shed his US citizenship.

That too. Like I said, one of the many reasons. Just thinking about them makes me think that perhaps moving away from there may not have been such a bad thing after all.
For the most part.

'zat right?

I went to school during an age when it was quite normal to be beaten with a cane for misdemeanours. Which could be as serious as 'having the top button of one's shirt undone', for example. Talking in class rresulted in getting a wooden board rubber thrown at one's head or a metre-rule across the knuckles. Not saying that was a good thing, but then again, I have yet to discover my violent side, or my obedience to authority. Same goes for many anarchists, old-school punks and rockers, revolutionaries and activists of my acquaintance, but hey, perhaps we didn't read the right social science textbooks.

Now that I am better informed i shall go out and kick someone's head in then report myself to the police.

Astomishing how much uninformed toss is flying round the interweb about this assassination. Here is a rather well informed view:

How about no. Pictures of dead people, fake or not (in this case all pictures have been fake so far), have no place on this forum. Sort it out via PM if you're that desperate.
