Hi, everyone. I just released an album inspired by The Shining (book and film). It's titled Shine and it's now available on Amazon, iTunes, etc. The album is somewhat of a cross between Fear Factory, Prong, KMFDM and Meshuggah. Here is the cover artwork and tracklisting:

Image

1. Darkness Falls
2. The Bad Thing
3. Shine
4. All Work and No Play
5. No Escape
6. Scarred
7. No One Home
8. Room 237 (instrumental)
9. Redrum

The Kubrick version; I've never seen the King mini-series.

I LOVE THE SHINING!

But it's not my favorite Kubrick film. He's my favorite director, and I love 2001 most of all. So I guess it's ironic that the album cover resembles a monolith?

Either way, great job paying tribute to what is obviously one of the greatest movies ever made!

Oh, and if you're into deeper meaning in films, I suggest you check this out -

This guy does a (currently) 21 chapter essay on the deeper meanings in The Shining, going into Native American territory, sexual abuse, and fairy tales, and it all makes sense. The whole film seems like there's something not quite right, and if you want to read the analysis, it gets pretty interesting if you're a big enough fan of the film.

Thanks!

...and, I didn't even notice the monolith in the cover, HA! I guess there's something to be said for the subconscious power of rectangular gateways.

Hey, if Kubrick put it in one of his movies, it's automatically pretty powerful!
