I do see what you guys mean about the nu-metal thing with the hoodied kid, but it's supposed to be 'lil Dev and that's what the dude wears.

The slipcases all side by side are going to be rad to look at.

I am thinking of framing them/putting them up on a piece of wood next to each other. Kind of like a Warhol picture.

I think Kid Dev is important for the album cover as it's the "character" of the story. I love it.

Love the slipcase, but I think the album art takes it for me on this one.

It's got a carnival/circus feeling that I just dig, and fuck me I love purple.

I was actually thinking of doing the same thing! I found and cropped the artwork for all four slipcases, and plan on trying to make them into posters, somehow. I'll arrange them in order on a wall in my room, and make em' look all nice... a fitting tribute to Dev, I think. Only way it won't happen is if I hear Decon and Ghost and they don't resonate with me at all, but somehow... I don't think that's going to happen. Just a feeling I have.

Decon's slipcase is arguably my favorite of the four, now, and the cover art is growing on me. Hooded Devin doesn't bother me; it's kind of fitting, I think, because Dev's mentioned the 'character' of the album, and the 'journey' he goes on many times. My favorite part is probably... everything! It just looks so dark and manic and grandiose, which fits all the music we've heard so far perfectly, IMO. It's not a cover I'd ever have came up with, myself (just not my style, really) but I think it's more than fitting as the cover of Deconstruction, now that I've given it time to sink in.

I'd like it more without the kid Dev. It feels like a Nu Metal cover with the hooded guy on the front. I think everything else about it is cool though.

Cool cover! It's really funkilly complex with the bizarro cat and the zeppelins, notice the circus-like letters.
One small thing though, I think it'd be interesting if the DevNinja was climbing the staircase.... and pooping, yea gotta have pooping to symbolically reflect the pooping sonic aura of the album.

the How to Destroy Angels EP cover art also used symbols an artist often uses (in addition to his style). i don't see the problem in re-appropriating art when the artist decides it fits — being Dev in this case as well, who obviously chose the artist for a reason and may have even asked for the re-appropriation of the cat and heart.

this is part of the same issue: do you dislike when Dev reuses riffs and melodies from other songs in his catalog?
