Excellent update; the music in the intro kinda reminds me of Danny Elfman. Bring on that release!

Sounds immense; both sonically and in composition. I won't even go over how many things just floored me, watching that (the clip of Juular was one of them); all I'll say is June CANNOT get here fast enough!

Sounds awesome Dev; thanks for the update! :D

He uses quite similar parts in Ki, Color Your World, Almost Again and maybe some others. Honestly its the only thing i ever had to criticize. So i'm not sooo happy that its on a record again, but i can accept it as a trademark ;-). And of course i'm extremely happy with everything else, almost brought me to tears of joy.

I think you're thinking of Wrong Side, dude, not Almost Again... or maybe both, now that I think of it, I dunno.

As for the presence of musical references to Dev's past works on Deconstruction - bring it on, I say! I didn't even realize that the very first orchestral clip from the new Deconstrupdate sounds a lot like Numbered!... until I read someone's comment that pointed it out. Even then, it's different enough from the Numbered! section that it didn't sound rehashed to me at all. Slower sounding, I guess.

...and... assuming that first metal clip from the video (with the blastbeats and "YEEEEEEEEEES!') is from The Mighty Masturbator, I think I know what my favorite song on Deconstruction will be. Or Poltergeist. Or Sumeria. Or Stand (which just sounds incredible, with full vocal treatment). Or Juular. OR Planet of the Apes, or you know, the whole album... :P

Both, i think. But you're right, Wrong Side is more similar. I loved (and still love) Wrong SIde, Almost Again and Color Your World. But with Ki it startet bothering me a bit. Hearing it again in "Numbered" made it my least favorite track on Addicted (and Ki my least favorite track on Ki). But as i said, it's the only thing i could think of to criticize. And of course i dont want to say anything bad about Decon until it's not even out, it's obvious that some references are intentional. I hear some "Gato" on Decon, too.

How unbearably exciting - waking up to that vid on Youtube. Very impressive use of orchestra, really great that Devin gave us an update on the guest vocals...wow! Makes the annoying things that are happening to me today not so bad! How many times can I watch this and find something new?

Are these all vocals? & are they carried out in a clean or growling manner ? Or does it vary? Whichever this will be freakin' AWESOME!

I think you've already out-ayreoned the Ayreon. Amazing picks!

Maybe they will be rhythmically chewing celery, like Paul McCartney did in his guest apperance for the "Super Furry Animals". :-)

Damn exciting. Awesome video update #2. Getting me pretty pumped for the album... I wonder how many times I say that? Anyone else just love orchestra and metal mixed into one masterpiece. It just really gets to me in that *ahem* special way.

The nods to past albums and "trademark" parts Devin always does is awesome. The only beef with it is that a lot of the tracks on Addicted have the same rhythms. I noticed it about 2-3 weeks after getting the album and as much as I love the album as a whole I still can't shake that feeling that all the riffs that sound alike are possibly just recycled.......?
