We've grown...2009 is so last year!

Christmas was great because I got to see all of my brothers, 2 of which live in 'England'. I also got to see my nephew who I never get to see (lives in Bristol with one of said brothers). He rocks and it made me feel good.

So, err, good things are great!

Other than office parties and oppressive holiday mentality everywhere, 2011 wasn't so bad. I do hate feeling like a jackass after deciding to lay down on the couch for an hour or so after having multiple glasses of 3 different wines and about 4 different kinds of Scotch (all 12 years or older). People took photos, a dog licked my ear. Oh well.

First positive, I have one week holiday because of Xmas.

But Then again...

1. Too much people everywhere just before D-day, yeah I need my carton of milk but there's 100 people in front of me in queue (no express lines here).
2. Too religious for my taste, after all it used to be paganfest before all this christian nonsense.
3. Red&white Santa. WTF, who's to blame? Coca Cola? Man used to wear grey uniform before all that nonsense.
4. Winter. I hate winter, either it's too cold and too much snow or like now there is no snow and it's raining. And no snow means that it's dark as hell most of the time.
5. Too much people on the roads too, specially on 23. and 24.
6. Traditional Xmas foods, mostly crap. Meat is good though.
7. TV is full of shit (actually true for whole year but there xmas is worse).

Maybe there's more but crapper is calling...

Gave a big f**k you to my f***ed up family and spent a lovely stress free Christmas with just the two of us. Best Christmas ever - even I could get mildly excited about it if its like this every year....then again, the pang of guilt for my Grandma who kinda lives for Christmas and probably won't have too many of them left has reared it's ugly head....f**k Christmas!

You know, maybe I'm just kind of weird. Or an asshole. I just don't like spending time with my extended family. Or my friends, really. I had one of my friends come visit on Friday and Saturday, then I went to dinner on Saturday at my brother's house with his family, my family, and my other brother's family. And my mom. Today, my wife's brother and son are coming to visit.

Am I weird that I can love all these people, yet not want to spend any time with them? I'm completely satisfied with my wife and child. They are all the human contact I require.

But that would just be religion of a different flavour.

True  But for what it's worth, I rather worship... let's say trees 'cause I can actually see them than something imaginary. Not that I do but still.

AHAHAAHHA I love the word humbug! It's amazing!

One thing I love about Christmas is all those people who complain about Christmas. You have become an integrated part of the celebration, and it's just not Christmas without you guys. :D

...wait... I think I misunderstood the purpose of this thread.

You're too cute for words.

Mr. Pink: No, you're not alone. I'd rather spend time with immediate fam (kids, the soon to be ex-wife can go elsewhere) and close friends 365 (366 on leap years).
