His mathematical knowledge amazes me, and I wondered if he has got a degree in maths/physics? Does anyone know?!

I'm in my 3rd year of a maths degree, and find so many links between his lyrics and what I study. It's fascinating, and I love it! (Like in Skeksis 'colours relate to numbers' reminds me of the four colour theorem in Graph Theory, and Universe in a Ball reminds me of Kepler's model of the Solar System). <3

I too am totally fascinated by people who are good at it, and spend as much time as possible talking to my math instructors. I try my hardest. I'm pursuing a degree in Sound Engineering and I need through Differential Equations...I'm in Calculus 1 right now. It's all totally fascinating, but doesn't come naturally.

Math is amazing. What can be accomplished with it is astounding. I failed algebra as a kid twice, and they put me in "special" math classes until I graduated high school. Still couldn't do algebra. Went to community college and tried again. Failed. And then the next semester, I tried again. Something clicked. Suddenly, it all came together and I was an A student in algebra, then trigonometry and calculus, statistics, etc.

I quit school to pursue the metal thing. Somewhere in the span of time between then and now, I had some kind of memory wipe. Helping my 11 year old son with his homework has become extremely difficult. Whatever clicked before has clunked.

Old age. Fear it.

God I hate maths, but at the same time I am fascinated by it. I'm rubbish with numbers, or anything which is black-and-white for that matter.
The thing I hate about it is that there's no room for argument or even discussion, it's either right or wrong. That's really frustrating. Dropping it last year was the best thing I ever did at school.

I thought I was truely terrible at maths, then I met the people on my degree course. When it came to weighing out silicone with 20:1 catalysts, everyone was getting their calculators out :|

I'm crap at maths, in that it doesn't come naturally to me, but I've had to force quite a lot of it into my brain over the years to pursue my chosen profession (computer games programmer).

It's all about practice, and finding a way to understand it that works for you. I find that I'm a very visual person when it comes to maths, and find it a lot easier to understand when I have a concrete example of a situation where a particular field of maths is useful.

Of course if you never find a need for it, then I guess it's harder to find a reason to learn. It's really a beautiful subject though in my (nerdy) opinion

I'm doing fine in mathclass. It's just that it's so boring with all the numbers that make no sence what so ever. I don't want to count apples and shit. It's lame! They should relate math so physics so you learn both psyhics and math. I would pown in math if that would hapend.

Mathematics is a powerfull model of the reality in which everything is consistent! Pure awesomeness... How could you not love that?

It has always been my favourite subject at high school and now I ended up studying Aerospace Engineering. I Love it...

Funny you should say that, I was awful at maths in high-school, but I was really good at physics, something that always seemed to confuse my teachers!
