Hey Adrian! Welcome!
Did you manage to catch the Dev in Brisbane earlier this year?

Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to his show when he came here, it was a very sad day

So I finally made my way here. After first buying Ocean Machine about eight years ago, I finally got into Dev when Ki came out. I've gone a little crazy ever since, and last night was my first show of his in LA. Holy shit it was amazing. Best show I've been to in years-- can't wait for the next!!
Anyway, hello all!
Anyway, hello all!
Everyone should welcome John (mits5k) up there. Despite his terrible taste in geography (moving down to LA) and being a dirty rotten scoundrel, we had class together years ago, and literally stay in contact on Dev related matters.
Greetings, Zuhuhpxy here.. nice to see a forum here!
I was introduced to Devin by a friend in PA who posted a song on Facebook, "Bend It Like Bender".
I thought it was kinda ghey, but it stuck in my noggin until I decided I might see if this Devin Townsend person had anything more my taste. I found the "puppynuggeteer" channel on youtube and scrolled the playlist. Being a musician, I took notice of the clip by D'addario or wtf it is.. and it was enough for me to spend some time watching others. Then I came across "Ziltuska", I think it is, of Kingdom performed live.
(because one emote is not enough)
So I decide to look at his site. He seems so eerily familiar, like I should have seen him before, so I decide to look into SYL. Never listened to them, don't recognize the band or the songs.. somehow I missed the SYL boat entirely, aside from hearing of them. Going back to the site tab days later I noticed something odd - the contact email address was coming from my neck of the continent. So I decide to read through the bio to see wtf a Shaw email address was being used.
And then I see his residence is the next town over, which basically blends into mine.
I was talking with one of my musician buddies after and asked him if he had heard of this Devin Townsend guy, and he looked at me like I was an idiot. Admittedly when I was in the scene I was blindly arrogant, and my memory competes with a lab mouse at best; but my buddy assured me that I have more than likely even met the guy over the years. Even if I haven't, I feel more like a supportive friend than a fan.. it's great to see local talent produce such fabulous fucking music.
DT has my support in all his adventures, I play DTP and other DT-stuff, in the grow store I manage (down the road in Maple Ditch), and I am damn thankful to the guy in PA who posted that bloody link. Talk about the irony hey.. psshh.

Hi everybody !
I've just arrived there this morning ! My name's Guigui and I'm french, I live not far from Paris.
First, I've got to tell you this is a great pleasure for me to join the Devin fans community
I discovered Devin and his tremendous and amazing discography a couple of months ago (I know I'm late, I'm almost 29....), and I'm just completely "addicted" (not playing on words
) to his sound, his incredible lyrics, his unique style of composition, and of course I've the greatest respect for the man himself and his remarkable personality with all its differents sides, demons, etc.
I've seen Devin at the HellFest in last june, and I definitely look forward to seeing him again on tour as the experience was so extraordinary !
Stay Metal

Hi guys!
Just got here. I´m a finnfag, 35yrs old and like to listen good music. I dont play any instrument, used to have a quitar earlier but folded up on practising because fat dicks instead of fingers.
Anyway, just curious and lurking what this nice forum has inside. Imma huge fan of Dev´s, and pissed of because i had to skip that spectacular Ziltoid´s show @ tuska. Need to work on weekends sometimes, and that weekend was the f**king worst one. Maybe later, indeed.

Hi guys, thought I'd sign up just to let Devin know he is a god.
With the amount of material he has released, I'm suprised none of it sucks (not a fan of the ambient albums). A lot of bands will get maybe 3-4 good albums before they start sucking. Devin has written/performed over 9000 songs, and they're all insane.
Anyhow, I'm an 18 year old Aussie, 19 in 3 days, and I'm a fan of all of Devin's work. Keep it brutal \m/,

Hi, another intro here. I'm 31 and live in Pittsburgh, PA. I've been a fan for 2 or 3 years and am finally going to get to see Devin live on Nov. 5th in Cleveland. I got into his music through the album "Infinity" and it's still my favorite of his. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming concert and getting a chance to meet him at the VIP show. I'm taking my friend along, who's a recent convert, since my husband doesn't really get my music obsession.

Welcome to you all.

Hallo!
My name is Amy. I'm twenty-two years old and I live in the United States. I discovered Devin Townsend's music through the Nightwish forum. A few forum members kept going on about the amazingness that is "Addicted," and a friend of mine on the forum decided to listen to it on Spotify, and then told me to listen to it. I have been addicted to Devin Townsend's music ever since! We vowed to go see him live if he were to announce US tour dates, even if it meant we had to travel, so as soon as the tour dates were announced, we bought tickets. I'm still kicking myself for not going VIP, but past experiences of getting VIP tickets for other artists, only to freeze up in front of them and say nothing, contributed to our decision to not go VIP.
We ended up flying to Seattle to see Devin on October 9th at Studio Seven. Seeing Devin live was amazing, although it was the only positive thing about the trip. Getting hit by a car while walking on the sidewalk in Seattle the day after the show and winding up in the hospital kind of put a damper on things.
Fortunately, the unsexy event happened on the day after the concert as opposed to the day before or the day of the show.
The concert was great and it was one of the best shows that I've seen.
I currently own Addicted, Ki, Ziltoid, Synchestra, Accelerated Evolution, and Terria, from which my favorite would have to be Ziltoid...although they're all great. I will of course buy more albums in Devin's discography in the near future.
