Hey fellow Dev-heads!

I'm a longtime fan, newb poster. Of course, the first time I heard Dev's incredible voice was with Vai. Been a fan ever since, although I had no idea he was doing his own thing after Vai. I didn't connect the gawddamned dots until I saw Dev open for Symphony X. I was blown away. Been buying his music ever since.

I'm in Arizona. I program for a living and write/perform music as a hobby. I'm looking forward to keeping abreast of all Dev does. Cheers!

Hi everyone,

I just registered to the forum and I'm usually more of a lurker than a poster but I thought I'd do the polite thing and say hi anyway :)

I recently saw DTP at Dynamo in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Probably one of the best gigs I've ever been too and the vibe was great that night. Sold out venue, excited and happy people, and the band seemed to be having a good time too.

I've been a fan of Devin's work quite some time, the first stuff I heard was the Infinity album back in 1998 and I was hooked right away. But I'm sure I don't have to explain that to any of you ;) I had the pleasure of seeing him play live a couple of times before [DTB and also SYL] but it had been a while.. I hope I'll get to see another show again in the not too distant future!!

Hi all, I'm Hannah and I'm originally from Perth, Western Australia but now reside in the small crater of Townsville, Queensland.

I'm currently undertaking a Bachelor's degree in Arts with a Digital Sound major, I honestly don't have a clue why because I plan on working for myself should things turn out right  I've loved rock and metal since I was a child and I pretty much dream of doing what Dev does. I love writing/composing and producing, and music to me is an amazing host medium we can cram all our emotions into and craft into something expressive and meaningful.

I'm probably younger than most people here, and although most people complain about getting older, I only wish I was born twenty years before I was.

I love Devin's music in all of its forms, and to me he is a standout artist because I feel the way he writes really soaks up all the emotion and essence he pours into it. I really enjoy the evolution of sound between each of his albums and the immense effort put into it all really shows. I also think he seems like a really cool guy, and hey, who doesn't love that. Haha. :)

Part of why I'm here is because of this weird dream-slash-epiphany I had, I think I listened to Addicted too many times in a row or something and it just happened. The epiphany part made me realise that just because I'm doing a degree, I can't just sit on my ass and watch Adult Swim cartoons in my downtime if I really want to get out there and be successful in creating music and doing what I love most. The dream part involved making Dev a bacon sandwich.

Okay, that was a bit of a long intro but I guess you got the gist of things.
I'll hopefully be on here a lot, so uh, see you round?

And thank you Devin for giving me the determination to pursue what I really want, and need, to do.

Ehm, hi! I am new here, too...
My name is Janine, I'm from Essen/Germany, but will be moving to Vienna - hopefully soon ;)
I am studying Social Sciences and am nearly done with that...
I haven`t been listening to Devin Townsend's music for a long time - a bit more than two years now. My boyfriend was fascinated by Dev and his music and so he played "Deadhead" to me - and I was just overwhelmed and have been ever since. Listening to Devin's music always shows me, what actually is going on inside of me and somehow helps me to understand and to come to terms with the things I experience. It also helps me to realize what is really important when I am not sure about that anymore...
That's it.

Hello all! As you can see from how long ago I registered, I'm hardly a newbie, but I've been inactive on the forums for about 4 years (it's crazy how time flies...) Does anyone actually remember me?!

Anyway, I'm Louise, I'm 20 years old and I'm a student from England. I've been a fan of Devin/SYL for roughly 6 years and I was fortunate enough to finally see him live at Bloodstock 2010! I saw a lot of people in SYL/DTP shirts, so if you were there, please say hi! My username is bloody_rust on Facebook and it would be great to get chatting to some fans again :)

Hi i'm Andy, i'm a studenty type from England and someone was kind enough to lend me Ziltoid last year.
Since then the floodgates opened and boom, here I be.

Also well chuffed to see everybodys favourite Animatronic Canadian Douchebag at Bloodstock and even more chuffed that he signed my baldy heed!

Hi! I've Been visiting this board on and off for some time, and registred a while ago but this is my first post!

I'm a 25 year old Devhed from Norway and of course I love all things HevyDevy. Was first introdused to
the Strapping album SYL and DTB's Accelerated Evolution simultaneously and needless to say I've been
hooked ever since! AE is in fact the record I've played most out of all the ones I have, and that's no joke.
Must've had it in my cd player for six months without ever taking it out. It's absolutely breathtaking.

And the more I read about him and saw interviews I really felt a connection artistically. No other artist
makes me feel the way Dev does when I listen to his music and his way of thinking and being really
shows what a true genious he is. There really is no one like him and it's a shame he's not way bigger
than he is! Hopefully the world will come to see that he truly is the greatest living musician today and
will give him the credit he deserves.

I was seriously bummed when Devin quit Strapping and withdrew from the public eye, and that feeling
was turned to a slight fear and high anticipation when I first read about the Devin Townsend Project as
most of my former childhood rock heroes always more or less sucked when they returned after a hiatus.
But needless to say when he returned he was better than ever musically AND vocally! Devin is a true
master genious and he can do no wrong. Sadly I haven't been able to see him live yet and missing the
Ziltoid show at Tuska has been this years biggest kick in the groin. Hopefully there will be more tours
in the future and maybe he'll even stop by our cold little haven and grace us with a gig or two. I know
I'll do all in my power to be there.

Ok, that was my introductory fanboy rant. See you all later!
