Not sure if this has been discussed before, but anyway.
In your opinion, what would qualify as the most sadistic kid's movie you've seen? This is based on how frightening/mentally scarring they were, and how intensely you remember those scenes. If you have a bunch, list away.

In my opinion, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? tops them. I know it walks a fine line as there were a lot of scenes that were aimed more at adults than kids, but let's face it, you plop a 5 year old in front of that movie and they'll love it. At least until Judge Doom and his infamous dip come onto the screen. Frightened me when I was that age, and I've seen small kids (even preteens) run out of the room during the cartoon shoe's demise. Not even older Disney films had that impact, at least in my observations. Such an awesome movie.

Oh you bastard, I had totally deleted that image from my memory... Poor shoe!
Saw it at the cinema as a kid. Even with parents beside me the scene with a guy being flattened by a steamroller shocked me...
Ah, memories. :)

Old Yeller, when they shot the dog. And "The Champ", when Jon Voigts character is on the stretcher or something and Ricky whateverhisnameis is bawling over him.

Watership Down. Yes, I know a lot of it has to do with the original novel being sadistic, but my god.

Doesn't Disney stick some hidden shockers in most of their movies?

I can't think of any at the moment, but Roger Rabbit is really fucking fucked up.
George of the Jungle is pretty sadistic, if you think about it.

Thought I'd suggest another, Return to Oz.
Namely for The Wheelers, The Deadly Desert, Mombi, and of course that "guessing game" at the end.

The Adventures of Mark Twain. The whole fuckin thing is creepy, but it gets weirder.

Ah, fantastic.

Bambi, The Last Unicorn and Watership Down have already been mentioned, but I shat my pants regulary when watching Michael Jackson's "Moonwalker". A very surrealistic movie for young-aged people. Especially those plastic-faces screaming out "Michael Jaaaaaaacksoooooooooooooooooon"
