Haha, Stunts. Its default track had a bug, where achieving full speed and driving off the road in certain place didn't slow you down a little bit. I think 90% of my playing time was zooming around this track offroad in Porsche March Indy using this bug - it was stupid but amusing as hell.

As for Pinballs, personally I prefered Fantasies. 90s pinballs were teh shit :)

Yeah I know that speed bug. Basically you take the Indy into 5th gear and go up any ramp/loop/banking and it'll shoot to top speed in a flash. :D

I've played Fantasies to death as well, but the multi-table feature of Psycho Pinball is so fantastically fun. And yes, 90's pinballs were great. When pinball games turned 3D I lost interest in them.

it's a good new episode. Nothing outstanding...I won't spoil too much but there's a few elements in this episode that were briefly present in the main game. The game is basically using these elements a lot more and much more effectively. Which is pretty cool. That doesn't really change the facts though...you still just run from point A to point B. The story within the new episode isn't really all that great either, which is understandable considering that the main game's story basically came to a conslusion (at least more or less). But you don't really have a specific goal in this episode that makes you feel like it's worth playing through it. The ending in particular also isn't very satisfying and you basically still have the very same questions that you had after you finished the main game. Despite all that it's fun though and it's way more challenging than any of the main game's episodes. I got all achievements already :P The one where you have to get through the episode in one sitting without dying, reloading or restarting in particular was a bitch. I'm glad I don't have to do that EVER again!

P.S.: Wawaweewa! Very nice!

this game looks awesome! At first I was a bit 'meh' about them including aliens but who gives a shit when you have that beautiful magnet gun toy!!

I finally went ahead and played the new Alan Wake episode. I liked it, some of it was challenging and other times were kinda easy. I'll be happy to play another one, hopefully with more story and less run from point A to point B.

alas that is the game's biggest issue in general....you just run from point A to point B. It's OK that it's not the open world game that it was initially meant to be. But all you do in the game is run or drive from point A to point B and kill some 'taken' once in a while. I hope there will be a bit more variety in season 2.

oh and my copy of Singularity should finally arrive Wednesday or Thursday, yay!

Yea, hopefully ramp up the atmosphere even more and give us a bit more variety. That's really all I ask for in the next Alan Wake game. And a shorter wait for it's release.

Singularity was fun, you'll probably like it a bit. There are 3 different endings that you can actually see if you just continue the game after the credits :D

Singularity is at it's best early on though, when you're learning things and it feels more like Metro 2033 with your lack of weaponry.

Speaking of Metro 2033, the Ranger Pack comes out tomorrow! Ramped up difficulty, more scarce ammo, that crazy electric gun the one dude has at the end! I'm stoked, gives me a reason to play back through Metro.

Kinda questionable in places, I don't think SMB is an RPG, neither Sim City was first sim/strategy game or Dune II first RTS. Sprite comparison is weird as well, looks like they're using 8/16 bits as a size.

Yes, It's a legit Halo game for Atari 2600. They handed out cartridges at this Classic Games Expo recently.

I've bought Deathspank and had a blast playing the first hour. Diablo-esque and some funny stuff thrown in there, I'm interested in seeing where this game will go.
Also while i like the new bunch of RPG's we are getting i miss the good old days of rpg's... overly prettified graphics, complex mechanics and drawn out story lines doesnt make for a great RPG. I completely lost interest in Final Fantasy after the 10th one.
Breath of fire, well i loved the first two.
I loved the first two Shining Force as well.
Of course Mass Effect and Fallout 3 we're awesome, but it doesnt have that same feel...
I'm suffering from Gaming Nostalgia.

That series is full of awesome, the grid based combat, the different classes of unit, the prestige class they got at level 10 (or was it level 20).
The story was told so succinctly, and yet had great elements!
Plus there was a rat super ninja, well if you bothered to level him up.
I never really played Shining in the darkness though, maybe its a gem i am missing...

It's a first person dungeon crawler, it's good for what it is, but not necessarily what you're missing.

Shining Force 3 on the Saturn, however, is an overlooked gem.

My pet rat's name was Slade the Ninja, btw.

Although in the late 80's and early 90's i was a Sega fan, i dont think i'll hunt down a saturn to play it.
So many people overlooked Slade, as he was a pain to level up earlier on... and missed out on his awesomness.

Hunting down a Saturn is exactly what I did. Twas worth it, even modded it for the fan translated patched versions of shining force 3 scenarios 2 and 3. :D

At any rate, Shining Force 1, 2, and CD were/still are my favorite games of all time, with so many memories, and actually character design influence on some of my creative works.

So yeah. Huge fan.

I got a Saturn at my local Flea market for about 30 dollars a couple years back. Came with a Virtua Fighter game. I'm glad I bought it, because I've always wanted one (and I like to collect older disc based games, like PS1 games) but I've yet to get anything on the Saturn I like. Would love to find a cope of Symphony of the Night for it, supposedly has a bunch of exclusive stuff in that version.

The secret with the Saturn is to go with 2D stuff unless it's published by Sega themselves.

It was a great 2D machine, kinda shitty 3D machine, but yeah.

Oh and don't forget NiGHTS!
