I've seen Devy before while living in Vancouver and it was always a fantastic show but the atmosphere of this DTP gig was perfection. Hot as hell, not a cloud in the sky, singing Gaia while the security was spraying water over top us was really surreal. At the front of the stage it really felt like a huge party rather than a metal festival. Devy put on a hell of a show.

Once in a lifetime experience. Total katharsis. Pure white bright energy streams flowing through the body. 1000 people as a backup choir for Devin. Blue skies, hot summer, water sprays. 10 years listening, first time seeing. Lost of little things falling into place at the right time. I was blissfully shattered and left quite fragile afterwards. So beautiful, like N9 says. Thank you Mr. Townsend.

I couldn't have put it better myself. Fragile is the word for the feeling after the show. Now I can die peacefully. But not before I see him again next year for the Deconstruction tour. :P
HELL FUCKING YEEAAHH!!!

Yeah, that was very well put. The sheer awesomeness of everyone singing their ass off along to Devin, sun shining on a warm summer day, words cannot describe the feeling..

I cried twice.

First right when Dev was lurking in the side of the stage and the reality hit me, "i am seeing Him!" and when DEADHEAD STARTED.

DEADHEAD.

You know what I mean.

(GOOD pics coming up too! From another side of the stage than the previous ones)

Everything that can be said about these two gigs has pretty much been said.

For me they were a tremendously emotional experience, and a big part of what made them so was really the audience around me. Everyone seemed to just be brimming with energy, singing along and giving out good vibrations during every song even with, or perhaps partly because of, the sun scorching our backs. Showing up over an hour before both gigs to secure a good spot and still ending up being in the 6th or so row, then talking about how awesome Devin Townsend is with all the random people around me all of whom seemed as passionate as me about his music, and later singing our lungs out in unison and hanging on every note that left the stage was a magical experience.

All in all I think the water hoses the security kept unleashing on the audience saved many lives during the festival in general, haha.

My tears did flow for Deadhead and, Life (seriously... when he says there's one song left and kicks into this lauhghably good vibe as the sun shines on the cloudless sky and hoses sprinkling water on fellow humans already stunned by an hour of epicness... pure awesome  )
I'm with many things already said, too, the energy was definitely there. Devin seemed greatly focused, sharp & lucid but at the same time very good-humoured and goofy through both shows. Massive.
