Finntroll - Nifelvind
1349 - Demonoir

You know what, I really liked Revelations Of The Black Flame, and beyond the production sounding somewhat muddy, I didn't find it to be the bad album everyone is making it out to be. The dark ambient and and slower pace was quite interesting, and they still retained the frenetic pace of their earlier works.
That said, their new album has a better sound, and I agree with the notion that it marries well the ambient elements of Revelations with rawness of their traditional material, and so is a much better album.

Mastodon - Leviathan
Meshuggah - Catch 33
Camel - Snow Goose
Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine: Biomech
Steven Wilson - Insurgentes
Rush - Permanent Waves
Cause for Effect - 0+1=01
Obvious records, all of them, I've been meaning to to buy for months, even years in some cases.

Got my Mild Eyes CD "Solo improvised ambience number one" in the mail.

It's the bassist of Oceansize and Kong (and now Future Of The Left I believe), solo and ambient as the title suggests. I didn't buy it for the music per se (although it is nice) but mostly for the packaging.

He made only 30 copies (mine is 27) and he made the whole package by hand. Hand sewn sleeve, marked with rubber stamps. The CD(R) is also marked with rubber stamps. And the booklet is hand typed on a typewriter.
