BTW, don't you own a Les Paul? I think you're the proper person to ask how 24,75" scale guitar behaves at low tunings. That's the one thing I forgot to check while buying the guitar and turns out the Schecter's LPish scale stick - I wonder if it will handle tuning down to A properly.

I dont even use a .66 on my 7 string and I have it turned a half step down with the Bb dropped to Ab and it's fine. I think it's a 25.5 scale length, but regardless it depends on how much tension you prefer. And as we all know slinky = djenty

13-56 are too loose even for B, 14-68's are ok in A standard - feel rather weird though and I'm a bit afraid they'll damage the nut in guitar (the grooves are too narrow for such strings). Right then, I'm ordering something thinner than these steel cables and tuning Schectur to B, leaving my old 25,5" supermayostratobanez for A tuning.
