Skateboarding gizmo's. New trucks/bolts/risers to go with my new deck (xmas present, currently untouched), wheels, bearings and shoes (birthday presents).

Want to get back into skating again. Stuck at it quite a bit when I was a bit younger... seems a shame to let all of that effort go to waste. Plus, I actually have a skatepark relatively nearby where I live now, and another really good looking one 10 minutes drive away...

Also got Blotted Science - The Machinations of Dementia as a birthday present from a friend. Probably a couple of other CDs are waiting for me when I go home on Monday / visit family the following weekend for my birthday presents / easter eggs.

Its quite strange being at uni. For the first time I received absolutely no presents on my actual birthday... Didn't even get any cards on/before then either... kinda funny.

I bought a black Wii. *ashamed*

To be fair, it's somewhat gratifying to come home after a frustrating day and be able to punch people in the face. Boxing ftw!

Why are you ashamed about the wii?

I can understand people who've had it since the beginning and there not being enough good games to satisfy them over the course of 3 1/2 years, but for someone jumping on now, there's a huge selection.

Perhaps so, but it's still always going to be the 'baby console' in my mind. Especially working where I do, it only enforces that stereotype. So there's a bit of embarrassment there for me - and honestly, not that many games out there for the Wii appeal to me, compared to PS3. (So why did I buy one? D:)

Also, I can't help but feel the scorn of Yahtzee... LOL.

Psh, it's a fine console in compliment of another. Unlike previous generations, no one console really has the full landscape of games anymore.

Also, find me someone who can't enjoy Mario Galaxy because it's too baby, and I'll find you someone who is heartless.

Oh and one more thing:

Sorry Mr. Xbox, you and I are good friends and everything but, I just don't feel like playing shooters all day.

Yeah. I don't play Xbox, lol - mine's sitting in the corner waiting to be auctioned off after playing it a grand total of twice (for Fable II) - I'm a PS3 gal - can find all I want to play on it. But there was something about the Wii that sucked me in. Also, it was a great price & came with 4 games, soooo... 8)

I rarely play FPSes or RTSes, but I sure do love the little games on Steam and Civilization, so there you go. :P

I only use mine for World of Warcraft (and The Sims 3 when I'm feeling sadistic.) - I could use it for more, because it's definitely grunty enough- but, I can't bring myself to install anything else because I know I won't play it, I'll just open WoW and play that instead - so I tend to be predominantly a console gamer - thus getting me away from my keyboard, ahah :P

PC certainly is a good means to play games though, no argument from me there.

I love my Wii...it's got some unique games. Well, that's untill PS3 Move hits stores. But then again, Move is just a rip-off. But at the same time I don't give a crap as long as the games that support it are good :P

got me an xbox live gold membership card
and Star Trek (the latest one) on Blu-Ray

Star Trek is amazing on Blu Ray.

If PS Move has closer to true 1:1 accuracy then it could possibly out do the Wii. Consider the fact that games like Socom 4 are going to be optimized for it. A highly detailed, fully current generation game on a console that has more power than some high end PC's that has a motion controller that is more accurate than the Wii.

It doesn't matter. The Move is going to fail because public perception of it simply isn't there. It's a shame too, because I do totally see the potential in it, but it's too expensive to succeed.

Also, in my line of occasional work, I've asked around, and uh, the average person has no idea it's coming or exists. Though it may be too early to assess that.

EDIT: I know that sounds super Internet authoritarian argument, but as some of you guys may remember, I do some promotional marketing for the ol' Nintendo, and one of the things I do is research.
