This new game has a lot to live up to, but from the views of it so far, it looks like it may be able to live up to the rest of the series.

Very psyched for Other M as well. I'm curious as to how the new style of gameplay will work out--I think the first Metroid Prime is my favorite style for the franchise yet. That game was great.

I got a new Game Informer yesterday and hadn't read it before I posted that, according to that, the biggest problem is that it's got the limited controls of holding the controller sideways, but there's an auto-aim, but sometimes it aims at the wrong guys. Also, in order to put on the scanning visor you have to aim the controller at the screen and therefore cannot move when you have it on. However, at the same time, this was based on a 1 hour demo of the game, and they still gave the game some very high marks.

Either way, in preparation I've been going over all the old Metroid games. Beat Metroid and Super Metroid in the first couple of weeks, just going over the console games and am starting with the Metroid Primes very soon, hopefully I can beat them very soon.

beat Super Metroid and Metroid Prime a few months ago....fun times! :D

played a bit of Heavy Rain yesterday. It seems pretty cool. A bit limited to QTE it seems so far but it has been pretty interesting and cool so far anyways. Can't say much about it so far since I have not played it too much but my first impression is...I like it. The loading times between the different character segments are pretty lengthy though. That's a little poopy.

Yeah, I had seen the control scheme on Gamespot. I think it could work--it's just very different from the previous Metroid games, but I think that mixing it up now and then is a good thing. Supposedly there is a Zelda game coming out later this year (read: like 3 years from now), and Nintendo say they'll be shaking things up with that. So, hopefully Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and that new Zelda are all very quality, as it seems they could be.

Also, I recently re-played Metroid Prime 1 & 2 on hard mode, and got 100% just for the hell of it. It shouldn't take you too long, if you can play it like any of the runs here. That website (http://www.speeddemosarchive.com) is full of some excellent/insane runs of games.

Yeah, the Zelda series is my forte, even though I still have yet to beat Majora's Mask, which I guess is a sin, but I do love the game, it's just that whenever I get a chance to go through it other things happen. The new game interests me a lot, probably likely because Majora is supposed to be back in it, which means that I need to actually beat MM pretty soon, and on top of that, Nintendo didn't do what they did with TP and release a bunch of shots 2 years ahead of time. However, I hope they really do get this one out by the end of the year.

I'm starting to realize that I never understood how good the first Metroid Prime was. The graphics at the time were the best that were out there, I do remember that, but the game itself, wow, awesome game. The controls on Other M do worry me a little bit, but Wii controls, in general, have worked out pretty well. Either way, there always to be some minor hitch, and I have a feeling that with their next system they'll have that fixed, even though it will likely mean a few extra buttons on the Wiimote, but it will be worth it.

Soundsofentropy, thanks for that site, I've been more of a gamefaqs guy whenever I've run into trouble or have been looking for those last things in the past, and that site really seems to have a lot of stuff that gamefaqs was lacking.

Ahahah, I play that as well when I need a break from WoW - never considered doing something like that!

Although Dev's not hobbit-sized. :P

LittleBigPlanet 2, everybody!

Looks like they really deciphered what users wanted to create in the first game, and are making things a ton less stressful to go about doing so. Looks gorgeous, too!

Finished Alan Wake in about 3 days. It's a great game, awesome story telling, good setting, rather disappointing ending in my opinion. I guess there is DLC coming out that bridges the first game to the apparent second game that might come out sooner than 5 years from now.

Oh Pokemon, what you do to me.

I worked a tournament last weekend, and Nintendo gave me a copy. It's addictive as hell.

Alan Wake is great indeed. It's what Silent Hill: Homecoming could have been. Great atmosphere, lots of darkness, a wonderful creep factor, great sound, very cool story, pretty good characters, a constant feeling of threats lurking around the next corner. It's exactly what I wanted from Silent Hill: Homecoming but did not get. And the limited edition is really cool too. Very well put together with lots of content and goodies...unlike the limited edition of Red Dead Redemption...and that leads me to the next game.
RDR is, despite the somewhat disappointing limited edition, one awesome game. It looks amazing and is probably the most beautiful and graphically most impressive open world game as of yet. Gameplay is satisfying, characters are cool, the Western setting is wonderful...I'm digging it VERY much. GTA4 never really grabbed me. I guess I'm not a fan of the GTA world. RDR is much more my cup of tea, loving it!
