Splinter Cell Conviction is great! I wish it had a few of the features from previous games, but overall it's definitely a great game. The co-op campaign is incredibly intense. Really requires precise teamwork and planning to make it through levels without alerting everyone and having huge firefights.

The controls are great, the cover system (basically taken right out of Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2) is the best I've ever used in a 3rd person shooter. Not sticky cover either which makes it all that much better.

Finished off Assassin's Creed II. Must be said they did manage to put together a far superior game compared to the first. Another fucking cliffhanger ending makes me want moar as well. The bastards better not take years for the third game...

It has both. But I really dont see how having half of a screen to yourself is even comparable to an entire screen.

Well, I can't speak for Abydost, but while I think online gaming has its place, nothing can really compare to wiping the smug look off of your friend's face when playing a game in person.

Online Co-op or competitive is soulless, and there's just something so detached about it for me. But I'll waste time on online UNO or something similar plenty enough.

played and finished all 3 God of War games...really awesome stuff. I actually got all God of War 3 trophies because it was so much fun to get them. I'd say it's one of my favorite video game series now. The boss battles in GOW3 made my jaw drop quite often.
And tomorrow I'll finally receive Heavy Rain. Hopefully I'll dig it!

I highly disagree. "Soulless"? Here you are talking on a music forum to people all around the world, what's the difference in playing games with people around the world? I cannot stand sitting next to someone and having them look at my screen while I'm hunting them down or me ending up doing the same. I cant stand having that tiny little section of the screen to look at, completely removes immersion and makes the game a chore.

Don't know if much has been said since the last video came out, but Metroid: Other M looks pretty amazing. The only Metroid game that has come out that I haven't been very happy with has been Metroid Prime: Hunters. Outside of that, Metroid, Metroid 2 (gameboy), Super Metroid, and all 3 of the Metroid Prime games have all blown me away. Especially Super Metroid and the first Metroid Prime. This new game has a lot to live up to, but from the views of it so far, it looks like it may be able to live up to the rest of the series.

Very psyched for Other M as well. I'm curious as to how the new style of gameplay will work out--I think the first Metroid Prime is my favorite style for the franchise yet. That game was great.

I'm glad to hear the new Splinter Cell is good. It looked awesome from the clips I've seen--too bad I don't have a 360.

Just played through Bioshock 2 on the hardest difficulty to finish out the single player trophies. That's not really saying much for that game, especially when the occasional death has no consequences in the rest of the gameplay. Still pretty fun, though.

Been playing through Okami again as well. It's a hell of a lot of fun (addictive, too) and reminds me a lot of Zelda. Good stuff.

That's a fair criticism of my point, however I feel that discourse online comes across with maybe slight more personality than playing against people.
I play some games online myself, but I'm always going to prefer sharing the couch and playing with someone else.

I have a little brother, so any game I can sit on the sofa with and play with him is always great. We get to tell each other how much the other sucks, inform the other of our doubts over ones sexual preferences, especially when concerning animals, and so on. Love every moment of it.

I just dont miss those days haha. I like having my own TV now!

And that is understandable, Octillus, I've heard others say the same thing.

I enjoy both but there is something special about having a friend sit next to you and making fun of each other's skills and all that. I grew up with video games and when I was a kid there was no online co-op and we still had a blast back then.

So did I. But that was back before we even had the option to play online on consoles! Not to mention the fact that back then the co-op options weren't nearly as fleshed out as they are now.

Atari, did you read that Gears 3 will have 4 player co-op now?
