I was actually going to ask what you wanted the BPM to be and if we could do something like cutting the rhythm up with a slicer.

Yes/No?

I think anything is fine as long as it fits the tempo and the section you record ends up as an integer multiple of the original drum loop.

BrunoN wrote:Awesome. How much can we alter the original beat? Is drum sounds replacement or glitchy-stuttery editing allowed? I assume we're supposed to keep the general feel (and BPMness of course) of the beat to keep some sort of consistency. Or we're just in "make one measure of anything in given tempo and timesig " mode :)

Simply put; If in a multi-track environment you could place the original drum loop in one track and your new loop in another and play them together, they would be in time. Other than that, anything goes. Hope that makes sense!

Same tempo as the original loop.

I could potentially speed or slow things once I have my collection of loops, but in the first instance everything has to connect back to the original drum loop that I provide, without modifying it.

Don't worry about a due date, I am in no hurry at all. I wont get to the mixing or fiddling stage until after I move house at the end of the month anyway.

Take your time and make lots of loops! With many styles and instruments. I dont want to be the only one doing a stylophone solo here...

As many loops as you like. Any length, but preferably in mutiples of the original loops (ie multiples of 4 seconds). So 4, 8, 16, 32 etc. Maybe? Not sure how important that really is though.

Anything goes really, so long as it can be played along to that same original beat.

Phase wrote:Sorry, another daft question. When we send you the loop do you want the drumtrack to still be in there, or do you want just the loop?

Just the loop on its own please! The drum track is just for reference.

There are no stupid questions.
