Mine was too, but I feel like at this point in time Russia has other things to worry about.

Probably, but you would think they would have better things to do than sticking Polonium 210 in cups of tea at London hotels as well.

Well a plane crash is a little too overt for the folks pretending it's still the cold war.

Dropping fucking radioactive material in someone's cup of tea in the middle of another nation's capital city is hardly subtle. As assassination methods go, it is possibly the most balls-out ostentatious I have ever heard of outside of a James Bond movie.

Although shooting that Bulgarian dude with a ricin-poisoned pellet from an umbrella-gun in the middle of Westminster bridge is pretty gnarly.

No-one uses the word gnarly any more, I realise now.

No-one else on here was probably born when Markov was assassinated either (except perhaps Keeker, who has discovered the secret of eternal youth). I wonder if these two things are connected.

I do remember the umbrella incident, yes. (Although I'd forgotten the fellow's name. :P ) It was indeed somewhat James Bondish.
As for the secret of eternal youth? If you find it let me know! However, I believe it helps to collect stripy socks, listen to The Goodies records occasionally and generally behave like I forgot to stop being ten years old.

Well, they found my friend Ryan's body.

I suppose that's a good thing, the likelihood of most people being discovered after being swept away isn't usually high, and it's nice to have closure. Especially for his poor mother. Sigh.

Only the good die young.

I'm glad they found him. Terrible shame though.

Less un-awesome but still annoying. I'm tempted to buy meself some new guitar again, I'm thinking about something reasonably priced without annoying and fiddly floyd rose bridge - yet still with some kind of quality tremolo (supported by locking tuners and stuff). There's hundreds of guitars to choose on the market yet I didn't find one that fits my needs. Closest one I managed to find is this Yamaha:

Which is kinda cool, it has perfectly ok price, locked tuners and a seymour duncan pickup. But why the hell it has to be a strat variation. Am I supposed to play blues or what. WTF, capitalism, we're supposed to have choice and all that.

Everything dies

This floored me. Fucked up as it sounds, this is just as hard hitting as my friend's death for me.

My two favorite bands in high school were In Flames and Type O Negative, and while Pete Steele spent a lot of the 2000s coked out of his mind, I can honestly tell you that the sense of humor in the face of gloomyness has absolutely impacted my personality, and that personality trait has saved me on occasion.

He will be missed.

I am so sad about Peter Steele. TON were the first metal band I got into and they remained one of my all time favorites. My friends and I met him on the World Coming Down tour and he couldn't have been a nicer guy. TON will always remind me of high school and bring back good memories of us all watching the After Dark video. Ugh..I am a lot sadder about this than I thought I would be.

Spencer Sotello's voice is starting to annoy me. GAWD, I knew there had to be SOMETHING wrong with that album. It's getting old quick... :(

That's the whole reason I haven't picked up that album yet. I can't stand those vocals. I wish they released an instrumental version...
