I'm gonna get a decent soundcard put in, so I can run my PC through my Sony 7.1 Receiver, but I've been playing the 360 for so long that I'd prefer to keep using a controller. I have a wireless Logitech keyboard/mouse, so I can use those if I must.

Any suggestions? Who prefers a mouse?

I love having the ease of using a mouse on PC. It seriously gives you much more control over where you look (I'm talking FPS games here).

Though you can go buy an adapter and use an xbox controller on your PC, which seems to be the smartest solution. Or a wired xbox controller (cant use the wireless charging kit USB though.)

it would be fun to play some FPS's on PC...but what keeps me from using my PC for games is that after a short while you got to upgrade your PC like crazy so games run well on it. I just hate that. I know that if I start playing games on my PC now that in half a year I'll be pissed off because the newest games will then already not run well on it anymore.

but if I did then I'd definitely get a controller too...like Anthony said, there's actual Xbox 360 type controllers from MS that you can use. But I suppose not every game supports gamepad controls. I think Bioshock 2 on PC does not support gamepad controls, for example.

Oh, I wouldn't necessarily be playing any upcoming games on PC. I think my 360 will be able to suffice with new games for a while (inc. Bio2 - which I'll get into once I finally let go of ME2), plus I may get a PS3 down the road - this Receiever I've bought has connectivity out the yinyang  so I can add a whole range of components.

I'd actually like to play Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 on PC...I've played them all (GOTY/DLC) on 360, and I also have the PC GOTY of each (yes Biert, I remember you saying how Morrowind was better on PC, I'd like to give it a shot  ) and as you've noticed - they are all Bethesda games, with Bethesda's built-in quest-destroying glitches and bugs, which, if you have a PC...can be fixed via the "~" menus. Console users have to suck it, and re-load or start over. :furious:

It happens lot slower than it used to, I assembled my PC 2 years ago and it wasn't top of the line then (cheap Intel Dual Core instead of spiffier Core 2 Duo/Quad, old IDE disk, only GPU was decent geforce 8800GT) and still can play in high details in most games in native resolution of my monitor (1680x1050). That's because of consoles I guess, most of big PC titles are crossplatform ones, and the other platforms are based on 5-year old technology :>

Yea he's pretty right with that. I upgraded my 8800GT because I was upgrading my whole system and figured it would be smart to get a near top of the line card for the next generation of new games. Best part is I only spent 150 USD on a pretty bad ass high/mid range ATI card.

I've tried Morrowind on my Xbox (the old black one) and found it hopelessly unplayable. Obvious case of a PC game that was ported to a console as an afterthought. It just requires a mouse and keyboard (don't think the PC version supports any other controls, even).

But yes, the Xbox 360 controller works with Windows (and Linux for that matter, I have one ;)) although you need a USB dongle for the wireless one to work, I'm not sure you get can get that without buying the entire controller. But since you're used to the 360 controller, and it's said to be one of the best controllers around, I'd say that's your best bet. They're not that expensive either.

By the way, for Morrowind and Oblivion (maybe for Fallout too, I haven't played that one) there are lots of home-brew addons with extra gear and missions available for PC. Be sure to check some of them out :)

That is another thing I'm looking forward to checking out. I mean, I've played over 3,000 hours of Oblivion just on the 360 so I'm fairly familiar with just about each blade of grass in Cyrodil.
I've heard there's a mod where Kvatch is rebuilt, complete with townsfolk and various associated new quests...
Stuff like that would certainly keep me amused for a long time.

160 MS points for some clothes....ugh...and I'm probably retarded enough to grab it...ugh. Oh and the Kasumi DLC will cost 560 MS points and will be released on April 6th, if I'm not mistaken.

the Hammerhead levels are fun. They are very short and it won't take you more than an hour to get through the 5 missions but it's for free and I don't think it was meant to be more than a demonstration of what more we can expect. I assume there will be bigger and more involving levels and they will probably not be for free then. But you can't expect Bioware to release huge add-ons for free, I think they have done well so far with the free stuff they released. Aside from that, let's face it, EA won't let them give away everything for free  I actually suspect that Bioware will release a nice big add-on for ME2...like DAO Awakening. At least I hope so. I hope they won't release ME3 too quickly and instead take all the time they need to make it awesome.

If this is the case, I suspect we'd hear about it soon, because Awakening was announced pretty much a month after DA's release.

Also, I kinda doubt it, as Dragon Age was a much lengthier game to begin with... a release on the scale of Awakening would be almost as long as Mass Effect 2 itself. It better be if it's gonna be another 40 bucks.

I was most put-out to be getting toward what felt like the end of DAO: Awakening, only to have the game freeze. And my last save be many hours away.

Lesson learned, I suppose - means I haven't turned my PS3 on in days though - I'm sulking. For something that cost me $70 it's so full of bugs. And speaking of the price, that also upset me. Mostly because I'm used to a decent staff discount but because no physical copies of the PS3 version were being released here, I had to pay full price.

FULL PRICE! D:

...maybe I'm just bitter.

PS3 Dragon Age stuff is glitchy, period.
