Not an expansion. Another game based in that world. I dont think Clear Sky was an expansion (never finished it though...)

I'm just glad that after the massive wait for the original Stalker they've already pumped out 2 more, with significant improvements over the last ones.

It was an expandalone :). Can't say Clear Sky was a big improvement, it had its moments, but IMO generally it was quite a misfire, faction wars are all screwed up and last part of the game is horribly unbalanced. Call of Prypiat is great all the way, though. Not a one frustrating bit this time :>

I've been playing Dragon Age: Origin for the last 2 days. It's not really what I was expecting. It does have some great RPG features, but sadly it doesn't pull me in like Mass Effect and its new counterpart. I think I'll just stick to playing Mass Effect 2 for now.

I also had the chance to play the Alien vs. Predator demo last week. Online functions are great and the game seems to offer some new multiplayer gaming elements, even though they're borrowed from other FPS titles. I was hoping they'd show off some of the single player campaign, but the multiplayer is just as good I suppose.

finished ME2 for a second time now, it does not quit amazing me. I love it. I might try the game on 'insanity' next....but that depends on my patience, hehe.

The lifespan of the game would seem never ending to some due to the moral choices you originally made in the first game.

I'm actually going through ME1 and becoming a ruthless killer to balance out my bad karma and following it on through for my next play on ME2. I didn't realise even the smallest choices made in the first installment would make such an impact on the second. I'm seriously in love with Mass Effect 2. One of the best RPG's I've played in a very, very long time.

very much so...I'm looking forward to see how your decisions in ME2 will affect ME3. I surely hope Miranda will return :D I also still have to play ME as a renegade and load a renegade character from ME1 into the game. That plus trying to beat the game on insanity...and I already played the game for over 70 hours, hehe.

and uh oh....AvP got a 5.75/10 rating from Game Informer. I hope that's just an exception! :?

Wasn't the complaint "It isn't Modern Warfare"?

no idea...just saw the rating. But if that's the main complaint then that's more like a compliment

The AvP demo didn't really do much justice to sell the game. It's still fun, but it seems to be lacking something. Hopefully the single player campaign will do the game some justice and make it more worth while in the long run.

well, it's a death match demo and I in general don't consider death match to be the most fun game mode. I think there should be some fun mp modes in this game. Infestation mode sounds fun and that GOW horde type mode sounds like fun too.

Bioshock 2 anyone?

I do have to say, visually the game is outstanding. Playing as a Big Daddy is pretty cool (the underwater sections are awesome)

My main gripe with the game is how easily you can die on the Normal setting. I dont exactly understand how every other Big Daddy in Rapture can take so much damage without flinching, but if you get shot by a lowly splicer about 3 times, most of your health is gone. I finished the original Bioshock without dying once on Normal, I've already died at least 5 times, and twice in one fight.

Besides that the game is great. The story is pretty compelling(not as much as ME2, yet. The intro cutscene has almost as much impact as ME2's though) Cant wait for the major story twist though, it's pretty inevitable

Also, the AvP demo has almost a full 5 star rating on xbox live. Maybe it's more one of those games that critics dont like but the general gamer does.

I can't wait until my roommate ponies up and gets Bioshock 2. I've been looking forward to that for awhile. Although I read somewhere that they were planning as many as 5 sequels (?). That seems a bit excessive, since I can't imagine them changing the game all that much. On that note, is it essentially a rehashing of the same old Bioshock, as I expect?

Yes and no. It has a lot of the things that made the first game great with some good stuff added on. Being able to use plasmids and weapons at the same time is a big plus, the difficulty has definitely been bumped up.

5 sequels does seem quite a bit excessive. I mean, they're all probably going to be the same thing "X person stuck in Rapture, wants to get out, has to work for X person over the radio, story twist"

All I'm going to say is if they dont change it up by the 3rd game they will start to become very monotonous.

My understanding is you can now explore the ocean floor in the 2nd one, whereas you were confined to Rapture in the original game. True?

Yup! The ambiance and atmosphere of those parts is great. Some of the coolest non-combat stuff I've seen in a game.

I've also come to really hate that in both Bioshock games, almost every NPC that isnt a Splicer is behind a pane of glass. You rarely, if ever, come face to face with one. Please explain yourself, 2k Marin.
