Hey you hijacked my thread with pup talks !

I've tried a Gibson LP Studio on my Pod XT and the "metal" sound I'm trying to get is almost similar, very dissapointed. You guys were right, an amp is needed.

Seriously, I have EMG 808's in my 8 string and I really wish I could afford to put Lundgrens or Bareknuckles in. The EMG's are just too trebly, they dont really have that response of the other 2. Bareknucks are a lot cheaper than Lundy's too.

Hrm, the Bareknuckles appear to be about $40 cheaper than the Lundys. Damn worthless USD :(

Haha, yea, sorry about that. :P But like I said earlier, I'm pretty damn happy with my little setup with the Epiphone + Solid Metal pedal. The Solid Metal is a little pricey for a pedal, but still cheaper than a POD and you can get some absolutely amazing tone out of it. Tubes are most definitely the way to go :)

Bareknuckles are only about 30 bucks more than their respective EMGs, if you're looking for them in the US check out this place http://www.axepalace.com/

Yea, but go listen to some Bulb tracks and tell me if Bareknucks cant get that beefy ass metal tone.

I would absolutely pay more for Bareknucks because they are better pickups than EMG's, plain and simple.
