yikes...oh well, I got 1200 points in ME1. So I guess I can live with just 940 points in ME2, hehe. But I think I'll at least give it a try anyways.
And I assume you get the very same upgrades and weapons on veteran or extreme difficulty settings.

Yea, I actually found a weapons list online and I'm surprised at how meager it is. Even with the upgrades and being almost level 30, it's still insanely hard on Insanity! Definitely trying things different on my second play through, bumped the difficulty to veteran to give it a little bit more of a challenge and I'm using a ME1 cleared save, which actually gives the second play through a bit of a twist, seeing old characters and getting bits of the story you dont get if you're playing a newly created character.

Also realized that my new favorite class is the Sentinel. I thought Vanguard was ok, but the "Charge" ability is really useless. At least the Sentinel has a special armor boost along with some good biotic powers.

I've also been playing the Alien vs Predator demo, it's awesome.
I didn't like it as much as the first two, at first, but I'm really started to get why they've done it the way they have. The Alien's wall walking ability is a lot better than in the previous games, once you get used to it, since you can pretty much just jump onto any wall that you can see, from relatively large distances.

played Mass Effect 2 on insane difficulty for a bit today and I agree...it IS insane. it felt doable though. I pretty much played through Garrus's loyalty mission on insane and although it was hard, it was doable. I'm not sure if I have the will power to get through the entire game like that. You die a lot on that setting. We'll see...

oh and I also played the AvP demo and it's a lot fo fun indeed. Playing as a marine in particular because of the motion tracker thingie. Really gets you all paranoid. I didn't do too well but I guess I just need some practice. Anyways, can't wait to receive my Hunter edition of the game!

Yea I do agree that ME2 on Insanity is doable, if you have the patience(which I most definitely do not...)

AvP is going to be a really fun game, I'm sure. Playing as the Marine can be almost terrifying. I cant wait to try out the 18 person game modes though.

I'm looking forward to the Alien/Predator tag style games, where there's one alien/predator against a bunch of marines. I can see the stealth kills being a lot of fun for that.

Oh absolutely. That's the kind of game where you get to mess with their minds before you kill them.

Just purchased Dante's inferno today. A few hours later and I had completed it. For those of you looking for something to fill the void till god of war 3 arrives, don't look here. The game starts off good but ends up being boring and repetative after the first hour sadly.
I'm gonna take it back to the store tomorrow and get something else :)

Wow it's really short? That's even more disappointing.

It's full of breasts though! Ok, I don't know if there's more beyond the opening sequence of events, I stopped playing after that.

That's disappointing to hear. As much as I want the game to be cool (what with the modern spin on the old story and all), I always figured that it wouldn't be totally perfect. Didn't think it would be so bad that the game would struggle to hold the player's interest for even the few hours it takes to beat it.

Only got a 6.5 on Gamespot. I'm not really surprised with the game not living up to expectations, but I didnt think it would be rated that poorly, or be that short. At least I know to just wait for GoW3 now.

it started off interesting enough and it had a good pace until it gets into the routine of "move to new room, defeat horde of enemies, boss battle, next"
although i must say, there were some fun boss battles at times. the battle with the 100 foot tall naked chick who shoots hook-armed babies out of her nipples was entertaining

i wont spoil the ending for anyone, but i kinda felt cheated, as it was a bit of an anti climax.
it does make me anticipate GOW though. in Australia we didnt get the GOW collection yet, but my pre-ordered uber edition contains that as well as the new game, so i can get the whole experience finally (ive only ever played the PSP version previously)

Yea I've only played the PSP game and the GoW3 demo (which was uber impressive)

Got Stalker Call of Pripyat and played that some earlier, very cool stuff as usual. Cant wait to play it a bit more.

is that a new expansion for stalker on the pc? i LOVED the original stalker, one of my top FPS experiences (loved the atmosphere in that game)
currently contemplating on what PS3 game to get today when i take back Dante's inferno. something story-driven hopefully :)

Not an expansion. Another game based in that world. I dont think Clear Sky was an expansion (never finished it though...)

I'm just glad that after the massive wait for the original Stalker they've already pumped out 2 more, with significant improvements over the last ones.
