Holy shit, that was you?? LOL Yes, I think you frightened everyone a bit. All good, I felt like you...but on the inside I guess. Great show, eh?

I travelled six hours from Central Iowa for Devin's set. It was worth every mile, that said, in the future I would love to see a show in:
Minneapolis
Omaha
Des Moines
Kansas City
Iowa City
All of which have decent concert venues and wouldn't require us Iowegians to travel so far. I overheard several other Iowa fans that had travelled that far, and in this weather, it's pretty dicey.

The last time I saw Devin play was 2003 or so at 'Trees' in Dallas, think it must have been on the SYL tour. Compared to my memories of that concert, I thought this was a much better experience. Devin seemed to be really enjoying himself, and the audience was as well. His faces remind me of South Park where every syllable produces a completely new expression. Songs were played pretty much flawlessly, but there was enough play with them that it felt worthwhile to hear it live.
Devin may have been third billed, but I think the fan following is such that there will always be people who treat him as a headliner. I thought the crowd was great. Moshing on Om kind of threw me for a loop, but it was good to see the younger audience members getting into it. My girlfriend thought the show was wonderful and she has pretty limited exposure to Devin outside of Addicted.

I left right after the DTP set to drive back, so really can't comment on those bands. Scale the Summit was technically impressive, but not my thing. It's the sort of music that I stopped listening to after I stopped going to LAN parties and trading videos of John Petrucci and Mike Portnoy.

The show was amazing, especially seeing Devin after waiting for this for 8 years was an incredible experience. Too bad the show was too short, too bad a lot of people didn't know him (lots of BtBaM kids out there) and couldn't really appreciate him that much! Agh, those faces he made were amazing =D

Seriously, Devin needs to headline a show soon, 30 mins isn't enough for this guy. I never thought I would see bands like Cynic and DTP be an opener for BtBaM...

I agree with the need to have Devin headline a show. 30 min was not enough.

I was upstairs at the bar and it seemed that everyone up there was there to see DTP. Or at least they knew who Devin was. I'm sure that downstars there were a bunch of fans for the last band. (can't remember their name)

Devin played amazingly (as well as the rest of the band). It was great to see him play other songs than just stuff off of Ki and Addicted. It also looked like Devin and the rest of the band really enjoyed themselfes. Last time I saw Devin was when SYL opened for Fear Factory, and it really seem that Devin was putting on an act and that he was enjoying it but at the same time kinda burnt out. This time was different. You could tell that Devin was excited to just be himself on stage, and it was awesome to see him do exactly that.

The other bands I really don't know that much about to be honest. The opening act was ok, they were excited to be there and thats always make a difference, they were just not my thing. Cynic didn't really impress me either. I only stayed for the first song and a half but that was enough for me. I see what they are trying to do but they just seemed sloppy and the autotuned vocals was a turn off. I didn't stay for the last band because honestly I think they suck.

All in all, Devin killed it and I want some more. Please come back soon.

I did the two things I swore I would not do: Show him my SYL tattoo and then tell him I named my son after him.

Dude is probably filling out restraining order paperwork as we speak.

Had an amazing time! I drove from Minneapolis the night before to see the show. I called it "My Financial Demise" The Road Trip. We had a lot of fun and the show floored me. I had an ear to ear grin then entire show. Everything sounded so clear and powerful. I wasn't too close to the stage but I still managed a photo.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Jesus H. Christ what a show! I done went and made myself a Ziltoid mask out of a paper plate and got front row center to show it off and man was I happy devy noticed it, we both had a little one on one rocking session during the last leg of By Your Command and let me tell you that was the single greatest concert experience i've ever had! It was really something special. Oh and btw did anyone get pictures or vids of devin humping the shit out of that security guards head during disruptr? That was some genuine humour right there!!

Looks like you were about 10 feet away from me.

Definitely agree about the set length, not nearly long enough! I was insanely impressed with the performance. Vocals were SPOT ON with the studio recordings which really demonstrates Dev's talent.

Sidenote: Devin, what was up with shouting "my balls smell like spaghetti-o's" ?? LOL! Hilarious.

I was impressed with the musicianship demonstrated by all of the bands that toured together. Excellent performances and crowd interaction.

The crowd felt a little stiff though, lacking some reception whether it be HEY-ing, fist-pumping, or clapping without invitation :chain:

Oh well. I know I did
