I have uploaded another java web version for forum members to use which is available at http://hevydevy.fira.at if anyone feels like it.
Since this IRC applet is java, you will need to have Java installed on your machine. You can get that from here : http://www.java.com

See you online :)

Wait I'm confused now. Does this thing bring people into the existing IRC channel on undernet, or to a different channel/network?

EDIT: Had a quick look, it does indeed connect people to the existing channel, but like I said, it's not working.

yeah thats the problem. The original website where i got this is dead. account suspended by some russian host.

ive been trying to crack it (the jwirc website used to have a full version to use as a demo) by grabbing some files from the internet archive site, but for some reason, when it connects to teh devintownsend channel, it gives just 5 minutes of use before the trial version message blocks the text input. Its a shame, cos this particular web based irc applet is waaaay better than the other ones that i have seen so far. ill keep working on it, i cant find where teh "trial" version part of the coding is located, ive de-compiled teh class files, but to be honest, JAVA is a language thats pretty alien to look at (no pun intended!).

i did manage to grab the key that they used on teh original website in their applet, and their files, but i still cant get it to stop blocking itself.

lets call it a work in progress...

i wish i had realised this trial version bullshit before i spend hours sorting it all out....

Or you could cut your losses and just use mIRC like everyone else does. It takes, what...A minute of your time every thirty days to re-install it.

You don't have to reinstall mIRC at all. I have to wait a couple of seconds when I start it because of a pop-up message asking for support, hit 'Continue', wait a few seconds again with another pop-up message asking for support, then hit 'Continue' again and I'm done. I've been using it for almost a year this way, works like a charm.

Why the fuck does that not happen for me?

I open it, then a popup says register or continue. Click register and it takes me to a payment site where it want me to pay a one-time fee of $20.

I'd rather re-install this evaluation copy than pay for something I can use for free :P
