Hey Dev, I was wondering... How are you handling samples in the DTP live set?
Are you using a laptop?
I know you use Ableton Live in the studio... Are you using it also live? (Are you using Live... Live? Hahahaaha... Hem... Sorry...)

Thanks!!!

Yeah, two Macbooks running Ableton in Synch, with a 'tone' being sent from laptop one to a Radial interface that detects if the tone breaks ie: Malfunctions, then it automatically switches to laptop two so there is no dropouts.

Sick dude! That must have been tear-inducing to try and program all that crap...

So, is it all programmed for a certain set time? Or do one of you have control over it all i.e.- pushing play LOL

Wow you sure have faith in Apple's technology if you expect it to crash after pressing play

Hedging on the side of caution :)

Yeah, for this tour, it's pretty much a 'set' set...I programmed it to be 30 minutes on the nose while getting the most stuff in there...if we go over, we lose some of the best stuff, so it's pretty 'nuts to butts'...

Please bear with the lack of variation on this tour... kind of has to happen for several reasons...I believe it's a brain melting set though, really worth seeing, and thats not just me speaking like a desperate salesman.

After this tour, it's set up to move between songs like a 'normal' band, each song has a locate point and time between each that Ryan can control.

So essentially for the btbam tour, we're acting like the headliner in slot 2...got some great backdrops and lots of merch, some free stuff and whatever. Worth seeing for sure... I'm extremely freaking proud. And no, tears were not shed programming it...(as fucking close to tears as you can get though :}

On a side note:

In my musical career, I've gotten to the edge of success several times and hesitated at the edge of the precipice...this time?

CANNONBALL!!!

See you soon, friends.

Devin, in one way or another, you have always been succesful!
Your music has always been making at least a little group of people very, very happy...

Now,I hope you enjoy the tour!
And if you find yourself in Europe at a certain point, I too, will be attending at least one show for sure! :D

Thanks for taking the time to talk to your fans even if you are as busy as now! :P

Thanks!

Yeah...if you get successful at the wrong thing though, you're doomed.

And btw, the merch comment is not a request to purchase, it's there if you want it and there's a selection. Zero pressure.

So do you control your own merch prices still? Any idea how much I will have to store away for a t-shirt?

In my experience, T-shirts are usually 15-20 euros, hoodies are 25-30 euros.

That's euros though. So yes, a million dollars seems accurate :)
