I have that thing people are talking about there. Do any of you guys have this? Anyone know what it's called?
Here's an example of what triggers it for me:

Before morten makes the most obvious joke there is, NO it's not a sexual thing and I'm not jizzing in my pants because of rowan atkinson. :D

When I feel intense moments of euphoria or emotional resonance I get a kind of feeling in the head that's similar but also it comes with the same feeling of when your face flushes.

You have this thing too? Or are you describing what euphoria feels like to you?

It feels quite similar to a good eargasm. Just wave after wave of endorphins released inside your brain.

This happens to me constantly....but only when I can grasp a certain amount of serenity (no stress like school, job, etc.)

It happens almost every time I go to a meeting (NA, AA) and listen to people share...

It also happens whenever I hear someone with a very soothing voice speak. Bob Ross anyone? Every time I watch The Joy of Painting it happens.

Sometimes the right music or band/singer can do it. Certain moments on Ki, and Mew's The Glass Handed Kites are good examples.

It seems like I can literally feel the seratonin rushing around in my brain...glad I am not the only one!

I just watched some of his videos and yup, we're speaking of the same thing. :D

So am I :D What the hell is this thing? How common is it? I spend some time yesterday trying to google this but didn't really come up with anything. This is either that common or that rare, the purpose of this thread is to find out which one it is.

I forgot to add:

My math teacher totally sets it off...when he lectures, and the sound of the marker on the markerboard.

I was helping my co-worker with his math homework today (I work at the college), and it was real quiet in the room. I had to be kind of close to him, and watching him try to figure out the problems after I explained them made my whole body tingle. Damn!! Now that it's all out in the open, I can kind of turn it off and on....so weird.

This is odd. And sort of awesome, like a creative empathy or something.
You're kinda right. All the triggers have "attention" as the common thing. It's like a really enjoyable malfunction of the brain :D One thing that always does it to me is when someone draw's on my hand.

The more I think of it, the more I'm certain that this is some sort of evolutionary byproduct. I asked about this on finnish scienceforum hoping that someone actually knew what the hell is going on. So far nobody really knows but it appears this is quite common. In one day 6 people already have told they experience this too and of those at least 3 experience it as strong or stronger than me and Dan. One even said that it's: "almost as good as sex and certainly better than bad sex".

That's not it. Eargasm is damn close to this feeling but still not quite there. The important thing is the triggers. Seriously, just me and dan? Come on, there has to be more people with this.

What's an eargasm then?

I think I get this feeling that is being talked about here when someone gently draws a picture on my back with their finger. I think I also get it when someone talks to me in a certain pleasant and comforting manner. That video aleksi posted is a great example of someone talking like that. Maybe the best salespersons train themselves to talk that way :D
