Oh yes, how could I POSSIBLY barrack for last year's Premiers and the most successful side of the last 50 years? How SILLY of me!

1. Devin Townsend: Addicted
2. Karnivool: Sound Awake
3. Exivious: Exivious
4. Dream Theater: Black Clouds and Silver Linings
5. Devin Townsend: Ki
6. Scar Symmetry: Dark Matter Dimensions
7. Porcupine Tree: The Incident
8. Epica: Design Your Universe
9. Cradle of Filth: Godspeed on the Devil’s Thunder
10. Derek Sherinian: Molecular Heinosity

Unfortunately not as many Aussie releases as in previous years. That's a shame.

BTW, who do you follow?

In no order and with little thought put into it:

DTP - Addicted
DTP - Ki
Mastodon - Crack The Skye
Karnivool - Sound Awake
The Dead Weather - Horehound
Animals as Leaders - Animals as Leaders
Nick Cave - Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!

I haven't heard Dredg, Depeche Mode or Mew's latest yet and I'm a fan of all three, so they may or may not have made it. I'm sure there are other albums I've enjoyed but they're the ones that stick in my mind.

I'm not going to make any lists, because there's just too many albums to put down. But I really enjoyed KI, and was really impressed with the guitar work and music in general on Megadeth's "Endgame". AND, Slayer's "World Painted Blood" absolutely lived up to my expectations. Slayer haters shoot me if you wish, but its a DAMN GOOD ALBUM. You are a fool if you are going to use the "same riff, same solo" argument just like every other stereotypical Slayer hater. Its an awesome CD.

I don't really listen to much metal anymore, but here it goes:

DTP - Addicted
Anneke van Giersbergen and Agua de Annique - In Your Room
Fever Ray - s/t
Tegan and Sara - Sainthood
Porcupine Tree - The Incident
Metric - Fantasies
DTP - Ki
Mew - No More Stories....
Alice in Chains - Black Gives Way to Blue
Tori Amos - Abnormally Attracted to Sin/Mindwinter Graces
Bat for Lashes - Two Suns

I listened to the new Alicia Keys today and it is also quite good. Not had long enough to rank it.

Disappointment:

Sometimes you gotta go backwards to go forwards. Just ask Alastair Clarkson. Knights is trying to do the same thing.

Maybe we need to resurrect the AFL thread....
